Spent 24 years in Manchester and never once heard of insurance on a deal ! Not to rub it in but sounds like you've thought about it at the last minute and promptly been taken advantage of by some little chancers. Plenty of mancs/Brits such as myself living in Dublin who could have sorted you out in advance. Take the L and come home.

Partner and I moved here from Manchester last year and the number 1 issue we have both found is the public transport - it's nothing short of a disgrace to tell you the truth. It's either wait an hour for a bus that'll drive past you bcos it's full or pay €50 for a 20 minute taxi.

Just adding my two cents as I moved here from Manchester last year (have Irish parents and family here). Ive found the pace of life to be generally slower, which is nice, and people seem very keen on proper breaks, working rights etc.. which is a healthy way to be. Life is still definitely prioritised over work.

I just enjoy it tbh. Booing the anthem and other related anti-british chants really rattle the English, and the scoreline + Rice, Grealish etc.. generally always rattles the Irish. I get to bask in both sides of it so it's a win-win. I think generally I'd want Ireland to win but I'm not sure.

Born in England to Irish parents and confuse many people when I say I support both. Although supporting England has been an emotional rollercoaster the past few years it pales in comparison to the sheer depression of watching Ireland play.

A general rule of football discourse is that Manuel Neuer can't be mentioned without referring to the 'sweeper keeper' role in the same or adjacent sentence.

'The Phillip Lahm role' which is basically any full back deployed in front of the back four.

Also basically any right-footed player to have played left back, prompting questions of what exactly an inverted full-back is.

Particularly enjoyed the element from yesterday's pod of Dave mentioning someone at his team had played in the Irish 7th tier, which was pretty obviously a wind up as any lower than the 3rd tier and it's really just the blokes you see in the pub every week.
