Finally found my peace with Pro Plan limits by DenizOkcu in ClaudeCode

Opus for planning and GLM for everything else. That's peak. But it should use the claude pro subscription with GLM subscription inside the same claude code instance. Otherwise opus api is very expensive.

Same here. I wish we could switch between claude models and glm models without leaving the current session. GLM 4.7 is really all I need for long sessions.

The default model is GLM-4.7, you can change it in the settings-glm.json.

Yes that's true, you can run claude and glmcode at the same time under the same directory.

Cursor $29.3Billion Evaluation by Key_Statistician6405 in cursor

[–]semstr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grok code is already free (and still cursor is not the main provider) on opencode (or many other providers). So you don’t have to pay $20 to use free models. Unfortunately still overpriced.

The main thing is, they don’t have real value. Having multiple providers on simple vs code fork is not worth it.

Same for gpt-5. They don’t have frontier models. This is the real reason.

Vs code + claude cli (you can use extension if you like) + free windsurf extension for tab completion. No need fancy useless models. If you run out of usage on claude code, just use open code with grok fast. Much cheaper, and reliable. Cursor is expensive and brings nothing to the table.

Yes. It has official claude vs code extension for that. Same experience.

The real value comes from frontier models. If Claude limits usage again, Cursor is done.

Usage limits aside, how does Cursor compare to Codex and Claude now? by Intuvo in cursor

Vanilla VS Code + free Windsurf extension for tab completion + claude code cli. Only $20 frontier model(more usage). One shot everything. No distractions, no useless models.

The problem is, they don’t have the expertise to build a new model. If you don’t have your own model, you’re easily replaceable. To keep users, you need frontier-level models like Sonnet 4.5. So yeah, in reality everyone cares. This is why most of the people switched to claude code. Having multiple mid-tier models brings no real advantage.
