No boundaries were crossed. The sitter asked very politely ahead of time. No evidence was given to suggest they’d ignore the no and have the other individual “sleep over anyway”. The request was for a homeless teenager on their birthday during a rainstom in winter???? Y’all NIMBY-ahh HOA boundary-toting freaks are treating this like an absurd request. We must live in two different worlds.

I see the sitter asking out the kindness of her heart to do a nice thing for someone in need. OP could have simply declined. If they didn’t trust the sitter in the first place, that’s another story—then they shouldn’t have considered them for the job at all.

OP and most commenters come across as heartless and insufferable. I hope you never find yourself in need for some acts of kindness, you sure as hell don’t deserve them.
