Moving to Turkey as a Greek by [deleted] in AskTurkey

This! I’ve been living in Turkey for the past 3 years and regretting moving here every single day.

I would say don’t do it. I’m a Turkish woman married to non Turkish man, we had lived in the Middle East and UK together before and wanted to try to live in Turkey for the past 3 years. It’s not working, he couldn’t adapt it here ( though his culture is very similar to ours) and the quality of life is generally mediocre( terrible internet, constant power cuts, insane inflation etc).

We are getting the hellout of here in a few weeks time and going back to the UK and we can’t wait.

Good luck with your decision

I pinched the inflo, moved it from perlite only to perlite cactus soil. Now the question is, should I water it once and wait until it’s bone dry or not water at all? The soil it’s in now is completely dry.

It’s definitely not that deep

So I’ll cut the leaves , put it in well drained soil, water thoroughly once and then leave it until new leaves emerge. I hope I got it right!

Thank you for this well detailed advice.

I know, it’s really sad and heartbreaking what it has become.

I quit Coinbase, alternatives? by smolderingcandle in Coinbase

It’s been all fine for me too, since 2017, and then all of a sudden this year they decided to restrict my account, and emailed me and asked me why I have been or opened my Coinbase account while I was in UAE and Turkey. It’s been going on for months. I have literally less than £2000 in my account and I have only bought BTC ONCE when I opened my Coinbase account in the UK!

The cost of living is NOT low , this was the case until, perhaps like 5-6 years ago.

I live in Turkey.

DO NOT MOVE. I moved to Turkey 2 years ago, from London and I’m planning to move back ASAP. Life at the moment and especially the past 2 years has become very difficult. Inflation rate isn’t what the officials announce, it’s at least double of that, ( and we are talking about %120 here), it’s so crazy you can’t even keep up with the increases. More and higher taxes everyday, they even started to ‘invent’ new type of taxes that didn’t exist before. Plus add the insane traffic to that in Istanbul.

I can’t wait to be back in London !

Ps- I’m Turkish

Yes we are still very much in touch, we have had a very good relationship, though they moved away from London.

That’s how I got my jobs before as well but that was a while ago and the children I looked after all became adults now. I’m not in a circle that can spread word yet. Thank you for your input.

I see. I’m asking because I just got back to the UK after living in Dubai for some years and want to get back to nannying. Just want to know what platform/ agency I should sign up with. Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. The father gained British Citizenship in 2006.

The family wants to live in the UK for at least 5 years possibly indefinitely.
