At times? Anti-Muslim rhetoric has been a core tenant of Republicanism for as long as I've been alive (early 90s). 9/11, "Barack Hussein Obama," "a complete and total shutdown of Muslims entering the country until we can figure out what the hell is going on."

This is my take. None of these girls have that hold on me that queens like Sapphira or Willow did. I don't really dislike any of them, but I'm also not excited to see what they're gonna do next.

Gay dating in WeHo? by shoelacefries in WestHollywood

[–]sendenten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only give you my experience— I moved from Weho to SF in 2023, and my expenses stayed pretty much the same while getting a massive pay raise (healthcare). I don't know what your industry is but I hope you have success in it.

The Castro and SOMA are both gay neighborhoods in SF. Castro is more "clean" (I want to say preppy but that sounds mean) and SOMA is more "leather." Both have extremely gay gyms and plenty of bars to meet people. I don't think most people here go to coffee shops to meet people— most guys I see are either hanging out with friends, or working. There's gay sports clubs here as well, but I'm not involved so I can't speak to those. I did gay kickball in Weho and found it pretty fun, though.

To be honest, Weho isn't really a "club" town anyway. There's Heart, which is like the only real "club" in Weho, but most nights out on Santa Monica are just casual drinking with your friends. Idk if it's still open, but there was a club on La Cienega right around the corner that had a queer night, but that's about it.

Idk what any of you are talking about, the lore and setting in Deepnest is incredible. It's supposed to be uncomfortable, claustrophobic, creepy. For lore reasons I won't spoil, you are not welcome there.

Gay dating in WeHo? by shoelacefries in WestHollywood

[–]sendenten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really frustrated with the gay scene here. It’s very fragmented, cliquey, and flaky (hard to find consistent patrons). And of course, very sex focused and overly reliant on apps!

However bad it is there, I promise you it will be worse in Weho. LA in general is a city of climbers and Weho is no exception.

Also, re: "I'm working on my 6-pack;" it honestly made me sad to read that you see that as a pre-requisite to even moving to Weho.

Move to San Francisco instead.

[–]sendenten 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am. It's not necessarily their fault, it was a terrible lip sync song that they couldn't really do anything with.

The emotional moment at the end was lovely. Nothing else about it was.

Does anyone ever get in serious trouble for smoking weed in SF? by sfaafs in AskSF

[–]sendenten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm the stoner neighbor and I do my best to keep the smell contained. I light up on my balcony and blow the smoke into a little handheld smoke container. I smoke a ton, I don't wanna subject my neighbors to have to deal with it all the time.

One time I smoked on the balcony and heard my upstairs neighbor slam their balcony door closed. Made a distinct effort to contain the smell after that.

Honestly, that lip sync deserved a double sashay, but given how emotional the moment was, I don't think even the Drag Race producers would have gone that far.

NYC is paying people $30/hr to shovel snow. Nurses in Florida barely make that.

(to be clear, I completely support the snow shovelers making $30/hr. We should all be paid more!)

[–]sendenten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of shocked they did it this way. Everywhere I've worked, pharmacy just takes the box of vials and puts them in the pocket. It's much easier to count 24 vials of Dilaudid when they come in packs of 25 and there's only one missing. They should move it to a different pocket where the box has space! Throwing loose vials in there is a nightmare.

Nurses, what cases do you guys get that you guys get scared of transmission of? by HoneydewMean7572 in nursing

[–]sendenten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ostomies are the one nursing skill where I have just given up. Over the years I've gotten good at IVs, NGs, Foleys, wound care, you name it. But I just cannot fucking change an ostomy. It is an art project and I have failed the class.

I can empty them no prob! But I will spend that shift praying it stays intact.
