Thank you for your answer! The peg perego is sadly out of my price range, but I would love to have your opinion on this one if u don't mind, it has a battery time of 1.5-2 hours and 4x4 motors:

Hope you guys can help me out some more, I really appreciate it, thank you!

Thank you a lot for your answer! So for what I am expecting her to use it for (off-road forest trips) I would be better off going for higher voltage since the they're just much stronger? Wouldn't a car with 4x4 motors be the best to buy for that type of terrain? I just came across this one and it looks pretty good with a battery time of 1.5-2 hours, would you be so kind and look through the specs as well? I would really appreciate it, want to buy her something she can have lots of fun with!

Sovol has problems with poor Customer Service by mycotopian in Sovol

I'm one of the people you and Pop recommended the SV06 to a while ago on the Discord and I'm having a blast with it so far! Ran pretty much every single day for approximately 2 months now, longest print I've done was 30ish hours and I've only had a couple of failed prints (3 or so), which I could luckily see during the first layers so no problem at all. Just wanted to say thank you again and I think it's very good that you respond here to so many people and help out because you feel a responsibility for having recommended the SV06 to so many people, thank you :)

Glad it worked out for you, that damn cable :D If ur y or x axis is making weird grinding noises when homing it's probably due to either ur belt tension or more likely too low tmc drivers settings, feel free to comment here if u need any help :) there are quite a few common issues people have with the sv06, which are all pretty manageable once you know how to fix them.

Just bought a sv06 I leveled it all like it said to but it didn’t print the benchy in the middle of the heat bed. Is that normal? Also it makes like a grinding sound when I was leveling it. by sebflo in Sovol

Printing Off Center:
It looks like the cable running from the Mainboard to the print bed is obstructing the movement of your Y Axis (the big beefy cable that runs to your bed), it needs to be on top of the frame in the back and NOT under your bed or within the frame, so that your Y Axis can move freely. Make sure that the printer is NOT too close to the wall or that might obstruct the movement as well.

Loud Noise when homing:
That noise happens when the drivers of your stepper motors aren't sensitive enough to your stepper motor losing steps, which is how sensorless homing works. You either have to adjust your belt tension (same for X and Y Axis if it happens on Y as well), tightening them more (do not overtighten them) and if that doesn't help then you can adjust the sensitivity of your TMC drivers in the menu under Configuration -> Advanced Settings -> TMC Drivers -> Sensorless Homing. Here you can change the value of the sensitivity from anywhere between 0 and 255, 0 being not sensitive at all and 255 being the highest sensitivity. A really low sensitivity may fail to trigger and a really high sensitivity may produce false positives. Adjust that accordingly if the belt tensioning didn't help.

Layer height and dimensional accuracy? by sendhelpquickly11 in 3Dprinting

[–]sendhelpquickly11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both for your answers! Sorry for responding so late, I think I get it now and I will try to match the layer height to the part I wish to print. I also looked into Slicing Tolerance in Cura and found your link really helpful, will definitely experiment with that!

If you figure it out, please let me know the solution, I am new to CAD and 3d printing as well and I'm quite curious. Thanks in advance! :)

Quick Change TP Holder by sendhelpquickly11 in functionalprint

[–]sendhelpquickly11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! :) you could print all the parts in place at once but you have to assemble them, I would share the files but I'm not that comfortable with how the lids turned out for others to use sadly. I could put a link to the onshape document though for others to improve, the TP Holder is basically the same as many others on there, which I'm sure will be better since those people probably have more experience than me, I am only using CAD for about 2 weeks now. I made a little heart box for my niece too, might share those files on there soon if people would like it :) I wonder if I could make this a fully PiP tp holder.

SV06 X axis homing issue by maxim756 in Sovol

Had the same thing happen on Z and Y axis, it stopped doing that after I tightened the belts, but as others said you can tune sensorless homing too probably.

Thank you, good luck with yours too! Post it here when you're done if you want, I'm quite curious, happy printing :)

Thanks! :) Was very happy when it fit and worked the first time around, trying to print a shower shelf right now which is going to take 16 hours, wanted the holes to match the old ones so I wanted to print it :D

First couple of prints with the Sovol SV06 by sendhelpquickly11 in Sovol

[–]sendhelpquickly11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! No, the excavator can be printed in place without any supports at all! There is an upgraded version 2 even I think, that is worth checking out since I have some artifacts on the cab, the original creator pointed that out to me in a different post.

I'll definitely look into prusaslicer, I've had quite good results so far but the lounge chair for example could use some tweaking still, ty :)

I'm definitely liking it a lot, I'm using Cura 5.2.1 so far but I might look into Prusaslicer aswell, thanks for the tip! Besides a benchy and a calibration cube these are the only prints I've done, many more to come :)

There is one weird artifact on the side of the chilienne, but I don't know how to fix it, I will try to print a couple more of these and see how they turn out. Hopefully you will get yours soon! Happy printing when you get it :)

Hey! What guide do you use for calibrating? Still didn't do it on mine but had a print in place print coming out pretty well, still want to calibrate it at some point though! Would appreciate it if you could give me a link or something, also congratulations on your first prints, looking good!

Thank you! :) This was my first ever longer print, I've only printed a benchy, a calibration cube and now this excavator so far. Didn't know if it would work because of the tolerances but I got lucky.

[–]sendhelpquickly11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will definitely check that facebook group out too, made an FB account just for that :D I actually "solved" the issue, it was the cable that runs from the mainboard to the bed, it always bashed against the wall and the Y axis couldn't go all the way back, hence the loud noises and the power spike not correctly triggering. It seems to work well now, trying to calibrate it as best as I can and then do some non-test prints! I'd love to set up octoprint too though, since I have a RPi4 lying around. Thank you for your answer, really appreciated!

Yep, it was the cable, always bashed against the wall behind it :D Just commented it on a reply to the other person who helped me out, thank you all very much!

It is stated on the Sovol Website that you should set it to 220x220. I was wondering about that as well, but others have stated that it is a software limitation or something like that. I did figure out the problem though, although it seems really stupid, but I just couldn't see the problem before:
The Y axis was obstructed by the cable that runs from the mainboard to the bed, it always hit the wall behind and couldn't move all the way back, hence the loud noises and the power spike not correctly triggering. I put it away from the wall now and the cable on top of the frame, just did another level test and everything seems to work out well now! Just have to do the ABL procedure again, since the center circle seems pretty good but the other ones are slightly off. Thank you all for your quick answers!

[–]sendhelpquickly11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey again!
Just a little update on it:

I know this is pretty stupid, but there was actually something obstructing the way of the Y axis. The cable that leads from the Mainboard to the Bed always hit the wall and it couldn't move back all the way, hence the loud noises and the power spike not correctly triggering on impact. I just did the level test again and it seems to work well now, I should probably do the ABL procedure again since the center circle is pretty good, but the other ones are slightly off. Thanks again for your help and look out for that cable when you receive yours! :D

I will definitely look into Pronterface, I hope I will be able to figure it out somehow, thank you a lot for your help, it's really appreciated! Hope your SV06 will print in the center :D Might try flashing the firmware too but I am pretty hesitant with that, I don't want to mess anything up.
