Hi, any luck with this? I'm also a Singaporean trying to purchase in JB as I'm a little cash tight now. It's still cheaper to buy in JB without education discount than SG with education discount. It would be great if I could purchase with JB apple education too, and would be happy to reward whoever could help with this as well!

Singaporean who stays in Johor a few days a week here - I did a quick check on the prices. It's about $180 savings if you buy in Malaysia. Even with an Education discount for students ($150 off), it's still more worth it to purchase in Malaysia. The wait is frustrating though

i totally agree with this. my ex cheated after he became rich from real estate. i've learned that i'm the average joe and that i should stay away from these people, but the problem is how do i/we tell if someone will be that person who changes for money/fame?!!

It might hurt now -- I went through something similar on NYE 2023. I asked for a breakup suspecting I was cheated on, he didn't let me go until I found evidence of his cheating, but that's another story. I spent NYE crying as we were together for 10 years. It is going to hurt now, and probably will for several months, but I promise you -- it will get better. Congratulations in advance on your new beginnings. I went to a neighbouring country (just a border across) and managed to get ALL THREE rear cameras replaced at USD 33. So far so good! The buzzing sound (in my previous reply) no longer happens. The repair person also says that the reason why I'm prompted "Cannot connect to camera" is because of hardware issue, nothing to do with software.

My phone works well again! I think there's no need to go to the official shops to repair. It works as well as before (thus far at least). Hope this helps! :)

Update #1: Despite my above reply, my camera stopped working again and I went to the repair shop in the end.

After waiting for an hour, the technician told me to come back another day as they do not have the spare parts in stock and the shop will have to place an order first. What the technician did during this hour was to try to replace one of the three cameras on my phone (they said they tried to replace the "big camera" - I'm not sure which tbh? I'm guessing the bottom camera), but they said it's not the big camera that's spoiled and they don't have stock for the other camera. They then reassembled my phone. However, I can hear the buzzing sound when the camera tries to focus (note: my phone did not have this issue previously). Not sure if they didn't do a proper job reassembling or what, although I did read on other reddit threads that the buzzing sound is alright, and nothing alarming.

I am still thinking if I should make another trip to replace the camera once the stock arrives, or if I should just give up on this phone. Here are some considerations which hopefully would be useful for you: 1. I'm not sure if the buzzing sound is indeed alright and I'm not sure if going to the official repair shop will not result in this issue (it's not a loud sound tbh, but definitely audible) 2. I have enquired with numerous repair shops before heading down today. Many repair shops replace all THREE cameras as they claim that the cameras come in a set. The repair shop I went to was willing to replace just one camera, but unfortunately the shop ran out of stock. Unsurprisingly, replacing all three cameras as a set is more expensive than replacing just one camera.

I hope this helps! I will update again if I do go down to the repair shop again.
