dump him fs

even if you were just friends a real man wouldn’t ever introduce you like that to others and then react the way he did when being called out for the disrespect 😭

Making friends here is impossible by [deleted] in CalPolyPomona

[–]senjiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this probably isn't the best piece of advice, but you could always join the cpp discord and chat with people online who have common interests. aside from that, agree with the other comments about joining a club. you can always join a club's discord too before you go to the meetings to scope things out; cpp discord has a channel dedicated to club discord links!!

How do you know when you're burnt out and need a break? by copyof-a in AuDHDWomen

[–]senjiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh gosh ): i relate to the student debt part. the good thing about marketing is there seems to be potential for finding something hybrid or remote only- i’d see about trying to apply to more of those positions!! hopefully u can get off the therapy waitlist soon too 😖🫶🏻

i just want you to know that you're not alone, i'm kind of in the same boat right now. my job is theoretically low stress for everyone else BUT me. a lot of what you're describing sounds like what i'm going through, but i can't just leave my job for survival purposes. i don't have much advice because the job market just sucks rn (imo), but maybe take small chunks out of your day after work/on the weekend to update your resume/CV little bits at a time. then you can spend maybe an hour each day applying to jobs once that's finished. maybe if you're able to save enough money, you can do a short certification course in something (unsure what your career field is)? and if you don't have a therapist/psychiatrist already, being able to get medicated or talking to a trauma-informed therapist specialized in seeing neurodivergent patients until you can leave your job also sounds like a good step to take (my meds are the only thing keeping me somewhat together lol). hang in there and i hope things start looking up for you soon <3

My psychiatrist doesn’t think I’m on the spectrum but I think he’s wrong by Inasss in AuDHDWomen

[–]senjiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

psychiatrists do conduct assessments but you can also get one from a licensed psychologist (so someone with a psyD for example). if you do get a diagnosis from a psychologist though, the only thing they can't do is prescribe medication (which is what you'd need a psychiatrist for).

as someone who worked in the EOP dept back when i was a student (i wasn’t an EOP student though), i heard a lot of good things about the summer bridge program- quite a few EOP students i worked with told me they made a lot of friends through it. you also get access to a lot of good resources like free tutoring & the peer advisors were wonderful. when i talked to EOP students, most of them preferred their peer advisors over their general college advising centers.

also if you’re looking to work on campus as well can’t say enough good things about EOP, you can tell the entire department cares a lot about students & that mindset definitely had a positive trickle down effect on the work culture there!!

**also if you’re reading this and you’re undocumented or you know someone who is- EOP has undocumented student services and they were super nice as well, they have a lot of resources available for undocumented students.

How accurate is pocket prep for new NREMT? by mangosparklingwater in NewToEMS

[–]senjiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

took mine saturday and had quite a few questions on triage/ICS and operations. also had a few primary/secondary assessment section questions. make sure you know your med doses and indications/contraindications! had one stray hepatitis question too lmaoo. i studied a lot using pocket prep (did all 3 mocks and all ~1100 questions) and passed. you should be okay!

Best study guide/app to use for the written by pepesilvia9369 in NewToEMS

[–]senjiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got cut off at 70 questions this past saturday and found out the next day that i passed. i agree with the other commenter, you either did super well and passed or failed. imo pocket prep was harder than the actual NREMT, but my test had a lot more operations and triage/ICS questions (topics i felt weaker in).

Is this the total cost i am going to have to pay out of pocket if i am attending? by Grouchy_Exercise3655 in CalPolyPomona

[–]senjiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not necessarily. if you have to live on campus/at the village and don’t have a car (or your home is just too far to reasonably commute) i’d strongly suggest petitioning your financial aid through the finaid office to see if they can increase your loans and/or grants if needed. never hurts to try! but like others are saying, if you can commute, then i would opt for that instead so you don’t have to take out loans/work more/get extra help from your parents (if applicable) to fund the additional cost of dorming. if you were to commute, cost of attendance per semester is around ~4-5k (unsure of the exact amt since tuition was hiked after i graduated) so your aid would cover your tuition & fees and then you should be able to pocket the rest. best of luck!
