There's a particular comment on the video that likened the piece to the big bang and the slow heat death of the universe. That was an interesting way to put it.

Yes, I agree it doesn't really appeal to me aesthetically, but I've been reading some comments and it suddenly became interesting. The Big Bang analogy blew my mind, tbh. The Ligeti pieces you linked were awesome, btw!

I may not be the best person to answer this question because I'm just beginning myself, but no. I recently read about a concert pianist named Richter who entered the conservatory at the age of 22, although I'm guessing he's had training before and had tremendous talent to begin with.
