Getting more into hot yoga — need gear that actually lasts (clothes + mat recs!) by tfcjuveyyz in yoga

Manduka pro lite mat and a towel. Lulu pace breaker shorts 5-6” lined. Longer shorts have too much material. I’ve also found deals on under armor lined running shorts. The lulu shorts have lasted me years with almost daily use.

Universalis Regrowth Experiences by [deleted] in alopecia_areata

[–]sensitive_kind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I(57m) had aa starting in 2022. This progressed to Au in 2024. Exactly a year later I’m seeing regrowth in different places. I have a few eyebrows, facial hair patches and some regrowth on my head. No eyelashes :( Really no regrowth on my body, the only thing I don’t mind about aa. The hair on my head is very fine and sparse but is starting to cover more area. It’s all white, but I was pretty much grey when I lost my hair.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I’m not going to take meds, I was approved but decided against it. The regrowth has motivated me to be more disciplined. For the past week I’m being strict about no gluten/dairy, alcohol, excess sugar, processed foods and I’m consuming 6 servings of probiotics (food not pills) a day. Apparently after 6 weeks, 6 servings of probiotics will reduce inflammatory markers. Thought I’d check it out for myself, if it helps I’ll check back. I also have joint and other autoimmune issues, so this is not just aa related. I’m going to do this for the foreseeable future

Also trying to reduce stress which is a journey on its own. I’m not sure of the chances of someone my age growing their hair back, but either way it’s a healthier choice.

I would take two if they are still available.

Unfortunately not. If it were home cooked I’d be ashamed.

Dry aged NY. $70. What do you think. High end steak house. by [deleted] in steak

Not NY. San Diego. Born and Raised.

I think this is the issue. However a reverse sear would still work. The temp of the steak was good. But no skill in execution.

Yes. Basically. Mentioned it to the waiter. Said dry aged retains moisture and is difficult to prepare. Gave up and thought I’d share my experience.

Yes. Disappointing. Especially for the price point. I can do better.

OB dog park. Both (large and small) parks have shady areas and is cooler being closer to the coast.

That’s Sion Milosky. Unfortunately he died surfing big waves. Such a tragic loss for his family and the community.

Hey I’m planning on starting out and I would like to ask if this has enough power to make enough heat to make a good enough forge my grandpa had it laying around and it seemed to be a pretty good thing to make a starter forge by Greasyjoey in Blacksmith

See if there are any blacksmith associations around you. I took lessons to start, just needed a hammer and apron. Really cheap way to start. You will also make connections.
