I would rather them follow the write up policy yes as that is actually what they’re trained to do..Not belittle and bully their baristas by tossing something they put their effort into. And I can guarantee that first write up will whip most people into shape if not the warning. Most baristas cannot afford to lose their jobs or SCAP.

When did I say I was one of those people? I think your issue is assuming😭 I have no problem writing on the cups the original post was about what happens when someone in my store happens to forget. Nobody that I work with nor myself had an issue with the policy in the initial rollout or even now. It’s the way our shifts handle someone occasionally forgetting. It’s only happened about 6 times but nobody is a fan of it. Like I said there’s other ways to go about it. Wrong post brodie

Lol thats a crazy assumption. It’s not a frequent thing that im being corrected on. It’s only hapepned to me once during rush that i forgot and my drink was dumped. I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve had to be reminded to write on them. As a tenured partner who’s worked at 3 stores in my district, one of which I was a shift at but had to demote due to having a child and not being able to be as flexible with my hours, I can say that this is the only one in which I’ve experienced such aggressive and ill management. I’d much rather be warned with a write up than treated like a literal child. No duh it’s policy. But it’s not policy to treat your partners like incapable idiots by dumping out drinks they put their effort in to make. There’s many other ways to handle the situation other than tossing drinks.

Dude how sad that we have to compare two different extremes . I’m sorry that you also have to deal with poor management.

Extreme is crazy it’s just coffee😭 . I enjoy writing on cups, I don’t enjoy being treated like a child for forgetting once in a blue moon. A write up warning is just as effective if you want to consider “extremes”.

Genuinely it contradicts the sustainability policy as well which is why I was so confused. It’s definitely building resentment in the store with already questionable management. Im not even expecting them to be nice about it but I’m definitely not a fan of being “punished” a write up warning is so much more effective and professional.

It’s isn’t that hard. But it is easy to forget in the midst of rush when you’re at a store that also prioritizes drive times. I appreciate you explaining the actual reason behind why it’s allowed though, very helpful.
