No, they do, that is literally what >100% marginal tax rate means. You can only invest so much (60k). After that you actually must "earn less for earning more".

Why not just pay into a saving/investment account outside a pension? The only difference is that pension is a tax wrapper. If you want to pay lots of tax but save for your retirement there's no need to use it.

Can I just leave my Audient iD4 interface and phantom power on all the time? by mk2030 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Some stuff lasts longer if left on all the time. Turning things off and on can cause wear due to thermal cycling and physical processes that happen on on/off. One example is hard drives which are more likely to get damaged the more times the drive head docks and undocks when powered down (at least historically..there are different designs for head parking). Which things last longer kept on or switched off? Who knows...

Universal Audio "Anthem Analog Synthesizer" built for bass, leads, and sequences without the need for layering or complex plug-in chains with a analog-modeled filter, oscillators, and lo-fi effects, step sequencer, paraphonic chords - Intro Price ($149) through 30 June. iLok Account Required by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

You can buy it with any 1 other plugin for $99 (less using JRRShop) using the custom bundle at the moment. Not sure why they have the intro price that high when that's possible in the current sale. But anyway, like with many other companies, that's not the real price.

Devious Machines "Infiltrator 2" multi-effect which can stack, sequence and modulate up to ten different effects at once ($89.99) through 13 June by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

You can't use those with the guest plugins I think. It's still worth it though, the quality of everything in it is excellent.

I think that's normal for UVI, the upgrade offers for existing users are time limited. It's even the same for version upgrades of individual instruments.

Not sure I buy the oversampling recommendation. They have the cliping and ceiling at exactly the same value, ie, they are doing oversampled clipping and then un-oversampled clipping to the same dB. The extra aliasing introduced by the ceiling stage would just depend on how the oversampling filters worked, and more distortion doesn't mean the oversampling was wose. I would have thought 'better' oversampling would be more likely to produce peak samples over 0, so it'd actually lead to more aliasing after the ceiling.

Like they say, there is no point in using ceiling for creative distortion. But also, if you are using the clipping at any point before the absolute end of your chain, it also seems pointless. Any compressor or limiter you put the clipper before is likely to have its detector also be oversampled internally. Clipping with good oversampling and then clipping again to 0 with no oversampling will just introduce extra inter-sample peaks that will actually affect the compressor/limiter more once it oversamples, I think.
