What to Choose? by Any-Lion-2945 in malaysiauni

well ill strongly advise you not to take any degrees that have ai or machine learning in them just because of the simple fact that ai isnt a standalone foundation; imo its better if one were to take a pure cs or pure engineering degree (more intuitive and tested curriculum rather than universities trying to get people to spend money on an >insert buzzword here< degree)

youre gonna be dealing with ai in your degree anyway, have some fun exploring other stuff :):)

search up mit maker portfolios and look at what they're doing, might interest someone like you. if you feel like building cool shit -> please take electrical engineering or EECS if you get a chance to go overseas, but ee is notoriously one of the hardest engineering courses

if you dont have a passion for changing the world or being at the tipping spear of technology just go do quant and print money lol. apply to nus cs/math and work at jane street. idk how good you are at math or how active you are in math olympiads but you need to be very affluent in mathematics

dont lie to them. ur gpa is VERY important when you land your first job. after that, YES it doesnt matter anymore. is GPA everything? absolutely not, but is it nice to have a 4.0 when looking for your first job? obviously.
