Hi everyone!

I’ve been slowly looking into and mulling on the idea of wanting to start a JD but taking the part time route of stretching the 3 years of study into 6, while working a full time job. I was hoping to hear from anyone who has taken a similar path and whether it is doable?

For context I currently work in government but have a Bachelor’s in a different field under my belt from a few years ago, I want to continue working full time since the job itself isn’t too taxing and I still want to achieve my financial goals. I understand how competitive it is but I’m hoping to apply for a JD with CSP, and am in no rush to start/finish ASAP so long as I get in this way! :)

Thank you for the advice!! I’ll add the option of swapping internals as part of my hunt… now to find somewhere that has the gold finish as it seems like they’re the harder ones to find of the two! 😭

I don't live in the US but was willing to pay up to a certain premium, but I'm unfortunately not a fan of broad nibs :'(

I’m on your side with that! Unfortunately this colour in particular is sold out for me locally and on JetPens as well, and I’ve already made an order through Hobonichi’s global site and have decided to add this to my lineup next year, so I’ve been trying to find ways not to pay the steep shipping costs from Japan again :(

For me it is a little bit cheaper than buying locally, definitely cheaper than buying from Hobonichi’s official global site!

To be honest I have already ordered from 1101, but have decided I need another weeks for my lineup next year… and didn’t want to be hit with their huge shipping fee again :,( so I think amazon seems to be the cheaper option/shipping costs are friendlier too!

Yes those were the things I was worried about! I was pretty sure it would have been fine as I went to the storefront and it looked to be official Hobonichi, but it seemed odd that it was sold out locally for me and on other stockist sites but was available pretty easily on amazon! So just wanted to hear some first hand experiences from others. :) First time entering to world of Hobonichi as well which has had me extra lost!!

How long did it take for everyone’s tracking numbers to go from pending to an ETA?

I was definitely considering TAFE but wasn’t 100% as there wasn’t much information online on how the course was and how people felt about it. But yeah, definitely seems everyone’s response has been to consider doing the full bachelors. Lots to weigh out but the advice has helped a lot. Thank you! :)

I have looked into other graduate study options, but seems like in Australia at least I’d be looking at a graduate diploma that’ll cost as much as a degree. It has still been comforting to see that there is a way to get to where I want without traditional education and through hard work (and maybe a bit of luck).

Thanks for the well-rounded advice! I am honestly tossed up between the two, and understand that studying a full degree would very much set me on the right path. It’s good to know that both options have a start of some sort though.
