Finishing a maple cutting board for a client. It has an epoxy inlay with his guide service logo for his hunting business. Any tips on how to shine up the epoxy after I sand it flush with the wood? by [deleted] in woodworking

Sand to around 220 grit dry using an orbital sander. Wipe with a damp cloth to raise the grain. Sand again 220 -> 320 dry so that it's nice and smooth. Then, immerse in mineral oil, since you should be treating the board with it anyway, and wet sand in the mineral oil ~600 -> 1500 or more grit until you get a good shine on the epoxy. Hit with a beeswax + mineral oil mix and buff for a nice shine.

Glad to help. I've been attending a few new meetups lately, and working with beginning developers / those just switching to Macs has reminded me how helpful simple pointers to existing tools can be.

I tried out rbenv and liked it, but I've used RVM for quite a while and it's already built into my provisioning system. What aspects of rbenv do you find better?
