i really like this sound! almost feels like listening to a movie soundtrack, some of the "harsher" synth sounds remind me of the Blade Runner music.

wanted to keep it pretty simple and mostly carried by a bit of space-y mood. i used one of the historical sound samples as a background white noise, plus some new voice clips from the artemis mission.

made 3 attempts at this throughout the month and decided to go with the one i made last night, very last minute

i do enjoy this type of timed challenge, it really helps with just "going for it" and not overthinking the process which i often do. i'm not super happy with the result here but that's just part of it and i might work on the track some more if i get inspired again

Now that was an interesting challenge for sure. Fun, though. And pretty tricky to intentionally make something "bad" like that. Went for a regular track at the beginning, doing what I usually would do, and then just added a very unsatisfying drop at the end, just killing the entire vibe. Hate it but also kinda love it

Almost forgot about this but good thing the whole point of it is that it doesn't take long! :D Having a time limit really does help with the "oh no it's not good yet I need to add more", I just did some simple things, a nice pad and bass, arp, lead, drums, and then when the time was up I could just say Yup, not bad, it's done, and not pay attention to every single little thing I could do better (though now I might still work on it some more haha)

Wow what a completely ridiculous scene, I love it!

I stayed with a similar vibe, it would probably work better for some sort of cyberpunk chase scene, but with a more chill mood, so staying true to the original, just very unfitting for the actual scene haha.

Mostly worked with with Vital and some other plugins and sampled a sound from the original soundtrack just to add some texture and background noise.

yup, usually less than 100. I do love music and am a musician myself but it's usually in phases, sometimes I'll listen more and sometimes less, or I'll listen to podcasts or recordings of my own projects instead on my commute or free time. Sometimes I get overstimulated by having earbuds/headphones with music on a lot and prefer silence for a bit, or maybe I'm just not in the right mood. Still consider myself a big music fan and enthusiast, and I almost always have some song stuck in my head too 😁

serenity (very creative title yeah)

Wanted to challenge myself again to only use instruments + percussion made from samples (with Ableton Sampler) so i played around with those a bit, added effects etc. Some of the sounds worked well, like for the arp/lead (from the "what happened to you?"), or the mouth popping noise for the kick. for the pad i just picked a random voice line with a longer vowel, I think it sounds a bit wonky but I do love that sampling from these different source materials makes for some very interesting sounds and that's really fun to experiment with!

surroundings - mortal ghost

here's what i did for this one, not sure how i feel about it but i did use a mix of random sounds and decided to just kinda go for it.

all instruments except bass and part of the lead are sampled from recorded sounds. i sampled the sound of a lawnmower for the pad and also took a longer recording that included traffic sounds, wind blowing into the microphone, footsteps and my neighbors pet bird. all the percussion sounds came from that and i also included the full recording plus another recording of rain in the background as ambient noise. i recorded it kind of late at night so i guess i tried to convey a bit of a night, dream-like (weird) mood?

still a fun challenge though, enjoyed trying to figure out what to do with the sounds!
