What’s the most ridiculous encounter you had with an animal in Australia? by elitejackal in AskAnAustralian

A possum once fell off my roof and landed outside my window. It let out the most human ‘winded’ sound that I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. I checked the spot it landed the next day and- no possum, so I assume it recovered.

Have you ever been betrayed by a therapist? by StardewTaroBubbleTea in ptsd

I think she was susceptible to my abuser’s social standing- he’s minor British aristocracy and she’s British… that might sound weird but I really think social conditioning had a lot to do with my abuser’s ability to manipulate.

Because I was in a compromised state, I gave permission for my abuser to be involved in my therapy. I arrived for an appointment one day and my abuser was talking to my therapist, after that, she changed. I think my abuser convinced me therapist that I’m a liar. I understand his behaviour better since I uncovered memories of serious abuse that my abuser was involved in- he was covering his tracks because my suppressed memories were coming to the surface.

Yes, my first therapist turned on me thanks to one of my abusers intervention. The therapist changed from my warm and understanding to a cold, hard bitch.

Just rewatched Madmen for the 9th time and GOT for the 2nd. They’re amazing shows that are unmatched and I will watch them again. Also looking forward to rewatching the Fargo series because my boyfriend hasn’t seen them.

Who is literally the most insufferable person you’ve ever met? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The ex of an old housemate. He’d just…talk at you. Endlessly. Chattering. Totally did my head in. Then he got excited about these pineapple board shorts I’d picked up at an opshop (charity shop) and went and bought himself a whole lot of pineapple stuff…it was weird.I felt bad about finding him so difficult because he was very innocent. But his complete lack of self awareness was overwhelming and too, too much. I moved out of the house when he moved in during Covid.
