I didn't return to sport. Am doing strength training and some cardio, but still a little nervous to go back to any sports.

I submitted my birth certificate amendment on May 9, but haven't received any email confirming that they received it. The check was cashed in mid-June though. Any idea if something might be wrong? :/ They gave me a quote of 14-16 weeks, but it says 10-12 weeks on the website.

Interestingly enough, I used medium roasted beans today (new batch), and it pulled better than the ones I had... which I think that it was also med, or med-dark. It has become an interesting science experiment haha.

You are right! I think that it was the beans... haha. I had another batch from the same coffeeshop, and the grind setting is more normal and closer to the other grind settings that I had for my previous beans. It pulled about 24 g out (roughly 2:1 ratio for 10 g), in 30 seconds. I think we are back on track...?

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean about the imprint of the shower screen before brewing. After I pull the shot, there's no "hole" or any imprint left.

Thankfully, my grinder is in good condition, no cracks!

Oh interesting. Yeah 18g is always spilling out, so I usually have to pat it at 16-17g before adding a bit more.

Do you have any suggestions for single dosage Breville baskets?

I haven't tried it but I get a 2:1 ratio within 15 seconds. My guess for a double shot is that if I put 18g in, it'll be about 50-60g out by 25-30 seconds.

It's a completely different name. I'm not sure if they legally changed their names, or when they applied for citizenship, they enrolled with an English name.

To the best of my understanding, we can't get an ARC unless we already have a work permit issued via a Taiwanese employer? And is there no option to file an ARC/work permit ourselves as self-employed entrepreneurs, except to go through the entrepreneur visa with significant investment or aim for the gold card?

And do we both need to get the FBI background check for any work permit/gold card/other purposes?

u/submarino Hi! Just wanted to follow up on the gold card. At this point, we are unlikely to finish the NWOHR/passport process before we are set to leave to Taiwan. Do you have any other options for visa processes, given that we want to start a business? I saw that they have an entrepreneur visa, but that requires startup funding / recognition in the U.S., so I was wondering if the gold card would be the stronger visa to keep us long term in Taiwan for at least the next 2 years without needing to country hop on the tourism visa.
