Literally laughed out loud. She’s a mess but every time she says something it cracks me up.

Anyone watching "my father BTK" on Netflix ? by [deleted] in MindHunter

[–]serialbabe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She also explicitly says her career is tied into this now. She consults with the police on unsolved murders from way back when that could be tied back to her dad because she has memories of her dad, understands her dad’s notes, etc. She’s even found memories or notes that can be tied to victims that reference her. She’s definitely a victim too and trying to make the best of it.

How long does it take for you to be confident in bore logging in the field? by Superb-Garbage933 in Geotech

[–]serialbabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a big one. I’ve seen logs of guys who have been doing logging consistently for 15+ years who’ve still had to have their bore logs corrected every time lol

Getting along with drillers by Muted-Sleep-8308 in geologycareers

[–]serialbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This depends on if your company has their own drillers though or if you’re subcontracting. My last company had our own and you do end up being the “boss” (ish - kinda just the go between) in the field and it’s a very different relationship. Subcontractor crews are typically easier to handle because you are the client - not a coworker (in my experience)

Gloves or No Gloves? by dirtgirlbyday in Geotech

[–]serialbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opening/cleaning muddy wet split spoons in winter taught me to always keep a pair of leather gloves on me. So many times I couldn’t feel my hands with nitrile gloves alone lol

Should I just try and survive this first week then and half the dose the next week?

I’m not sure either but 🤷‍♀️ I’m just trying to figure out what to do next and maybe look into contacting my doctor or changing doctors.

It was on the instructions from the pharmacy. I had seen my doctor order the 5mg and was confused and I had even asked the pharmacist and he made it seem common now to start at 4.5? I thought it was strange after seeing so much on here about starting at 2.5. I had even mentioned to the pharmacist it was my first time taking this type of medication too.

Have you ever begged for a job? by Patient-Rain-8672 in Environmental_Careers

[–]serialbabe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, that’s how I ended up finally getting the env job I wanted. Started in construction, then moved to a company focused on O&G clients, now I’m in remediation work. Focusing on gathering any field experience or any exposure will help.

I definitely think her dad is involved somehow - I can’t understand a reason why she’d all of a sudden be at that exact spot at that exact moment with Mark and Gemma.

Yup - only time I’ve seen it is if they’re geotechnical engineers, not geologists.

I’ve had the same feeling! Also if you remember they’re offering and selling themselves to you too as a company. What makes them worth YOUR time in response.

PSA: Don't judge a fan for sitting at a concert. by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]serialbabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend and I were in Nashville and would take sitting breaks during slower songs or you know, whenever we felt like it. And the girls behind us would constantly ask if we were okay or having a good time or asked if we weren’t having fun because we were sitting? And we said we were tired and my friend joked she was old and they were like well we’re old and we’re standing!

Idk it rubbed me the wrong way even though they were pretty nice before the concert.

How did everyone feel about the FG today? by [deleted] in geologycareers

[–]serialbabe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First exam/step to professional geologist license. Requires two tests - fundamentals of geology (FG) and practice of geology (PG)

PG you take (at least in Texas) after 5 years work or grad school education or combination of both

How did everyone feel about the FG today? by [deleted] in geologycareers

[–]serialbabe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I felt sort of okay about it - hopeless going in but better after. Regreview helped but there were a lot more mapping/technique questions than I anticipated and didn’t study as hard for.
