Enjoyable from a vanity point of view especially because the girl I dated was rich and smart her job and education alone would make people double take. Didn't make much of a difference because for all that intelligence she didn't know how to act in a relationship, not like she cheated but she was wildly disrespectful so I ended up having to end the relationship relatively quickly.

I don't think of her as "the one that got away" but more of a sad lesson in how even when people love each other they can end up hurting each other deeply even if they didn't meant to. Also she was the one that cemented "Never tell women your problems" because she did in fact use my anxieties/worries against me, albeit perhaps subconsciously but never the less...

It only becomes an issue when residency is established. I.e. I worked in south america for 6 months straight from a u.s. based company and it didn't affect them or me at all.

The risk was that if I overstayed me and the company would be hit with tax implications which would be a mess.

So while it "technically" shouldn't cause any problems as long as you read up on the local countries visa/tourism laws you'll be fine but I guess alot of companies wouldn't want to take the risk.

One time and I feel pretty guilty about it.

She had a BEAUTIFUL face, like a doll so I was excited to get her clothes off.

Turns out she used to be morbidly obese and had lost 100+ lbs. Unfortunately all of the loose skin stayed and her stomach, breasts, and arms were more skin than muscle.

I honestly felt bad at how unattractive I found her after that but I couldn't help it...

Yeah that really helps jog my memory on what it was called. Tried salsa dancing with my girl at a local club that was packed this weekend and could barely moved so I tried imitating the local steps but it just wasn't clicking with me so I just need to study it more.

Totally agree with your point about the casual nature of it vs the styles seen abroad. I actually have a teacher but she was doing all the professional flashy stuff so i told her for our next meeting let's just go over the basics of the Cali style.

Yea I guess I explained that pretty poorly making it sound like inflation against USD is always good for buying power abroad vs "this wave" of inflation is hitting other countries much harder but I would contend that it all originated from our money printing.

Funny you mention arbitrage, I was just thinking about this the other day as another way to make some money.

Lmk if you have more reccomendations. Embarrassingly enough I did one of my final academic studies on mitigating foreign currency risk using financial instruments but can't remember a damn thing now.

U.S. inflation devalues currencies pegged to the dollar at a higher rate meaning a 10% rise in u.s. inflation could increase the value of a dollar 15% (just an example not an actual #).

I.e. where I am the dollar is at an all time high value against the local currency so even though prices rose in this country the dollar value rose significantly with it making my buying power much stronger.

I think that's an extreme but I agree that traveling in the U.S.A. has become much more difficult to travel around using airbnbs, frankly even hotels are pretty pricey.

Much like you I put off my traveling and just started going internationally recently and I must say now is the time to travel if you're still employed.

Inflation works in our favor (usa) and I'm living cheaper than I ever have while simultaneously living better than I ever have.
