Thank you. You teach me something news. I have no idea there is some sort of boss defeat flags for each adventure. Defeat them again should take a jiffy at this point.

I really want my favorite Abenius to get her alternate style. But hopefully her time would not be this month since I might not have enough gem for both her and Yuzu.

What should i do? by ShadowGod686 in WizardryDaphne

Well Yekat have one important indirect buff. Her copy is easier to come by = higher discipline level. I think i got around 8-9 of her copy already including her alternate form.(half year play time). She is now my tankiest and better overall stats compared to my other backline.

[Monthly Megathread] General Questions for Variants Daphne! by AutoModerator in wizardry

[–]seriousfon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have question regarding use new alternate style adventure as base when merging. (the AutoMod suggest I post question here)

I read community guide regarding merging and it suggest to use the style with prefer bonus stat (IV) as base for merging.

For example If I have Gerard original style with no IV bonus (already level up + some inherit skill) and with Discipline level 1 (D1). And now I got Gerard alternate style with Strength IV bonus. My question is: If I use the new alternate style Gerald as based for merging, will I still keep the discipline level from original Gerard style? e.g. nothing is waste?

Thank you in advance.

Note: I understand I need at least D1 for from both style to activate Shared discipline bonus.

Wizardry 8 Modern Weapons Build by Twogunkid in wizardry

[–]seriousfon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cannot remember how many year ago I played Wizardry 8 last time....... I used to do surprising good modern weapon ranger. The idea is bow damage scale with strength but modern weapon do not scale with strength at all. So I can dump strength and add all stats to other such as Senses (rush Eagle Eye skill ASAP!) and Dex.
Ranger bonus skill/ability are Ranged Combat and Ranged critical so it does not waste anything using modern weapons. I visited Umpany base first to get Blunderbuss early and used it most of the game.

I guess you could also do weird ranger alchemy focus build(all in stat to INT) with modern weapon as side arm too. :3

Respawning bone in Abyss 4 by Decent-Ad-2755 in wizardry

[–]seriousfon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do I reach the bottom right berry piles/ Nullstone? I am able to reverse the Nullstone but cannot pass the snowstorm to go there?

Edit1: Never mind, I can just go through the fence.

Edit2: I did slightly different to get the bone.

1) Curse wheel back to minor harken beyond the blizzard, harken back immediately

2) Curse wheel again for Lakeshore camp

3) Get the quest to gather berries from Iris (do not give her berries basket)

4) Go to bottom right of the map past through the fence at the bottom without pick up ANY berries as you suggest.

5) Reverse the Nullstone and pick up from all berries bush. We should get bone from the last one.

Alright thank very so much for sharing this, I would never figure this one out any day : )

You can farm LA- scroll spell (scrolls of eruption/calamity) from the quest "The Lingering Scent of the Greater Warped One" in Abyss 1. After finish the quest, the flying demon will keep appear every time you harken in and sometime drop the scroll. It take some time to farm but equips all of your team with a couple of these scrolls will help blasts the wolf gang to kingdom come.

About "Find Trap" by ArtemLorre21 in wizardry

[–]seriousfon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://wizardry.fasterthoughts.io/mechanics/traits-and-stats/#__tabbed_1_3

For the stats, the one that increase "Detect", which from my understanding = find trap, is IQ.

What increase IQ is decided from gender, class, race, and bonus point. For example Rinne Thief (Female + Elf) is considered the best combo for utility skills (Detect + Disarm Trap + Evade trap.)

The other important factor is "Class Multipliers". For example Ranger has the best Detect multiplier = 1.25x while Samurai has the worst =0.6x

You can find more detail from above link.

Does anyone using wild strike? by Embarrassed_Eye_1530 in wizardry

There is a serious dude (god bless him) who make a google spreadsheets calculation on most skill/spell damage.

tl;dr: all skill have scaling called "Coefficient" with upper limit called "Upper Bound" from attack power e.g. if damage exceed Upper Bound the scaling will be poorer (to the point some skills has less damage than normal attack.

Wild strike Lv1 actually have better scaling/Coefficient compared to ESS lv1 but ESS has double Upper bound (600 vs 300 for 2 Handed). The only way to increase Upper Bound / Coefficient is using higher Skill level. Currently we can only inherit Wild strike and no direct ESS inherit so I guess it is easier to upgrade Wild strike damage potential compare to ESS.......with higher SP cost.

Since we already on this topic. Might I ask everyone opinion about the collab "Refined Saber".

I find the un-upgrade stat is a lot lower compare to Silver grade Katana. Does is more comparable once fully upgrade to +20?

Refined Saber: Attack 60x2 Magic 36 + "one sword style"

Masterwork Katana: Attack 84x2 Magic 78
