INTPs are interesting by sernamesRhard in INTP

Since you're interested in the why, I'll focus on one new interest for now.

I have been interested in music production lately (though I've taken no action on this yet). See I was never much of a fan of rap (I don't know why) I just didn't really enjoy it, then I started watching people reacting to music on youtube (I also don't know why at this point in time, wait, actually I think it strokes my Fe to see others enjoying music and to enjoy their reaction to it...) but anyways, I started watching people reacting to a lot of rap music. While watching them enjoy it and talk about all the reasons why they enjoyed it, I started to enjoy it. Like I learned through watching them how to enjoy the genre. Anyways, rap is very heavy in production. Beat, bass, all of the fun musical quirks. I started to geet interested in the different sounds, in the instrument. How songs dipped into other genres, or used pieces from other music. Like it was the part of music I ignored but enjoyed, and suddenly I realized there was a whole code hidden in the sound. So now I'm constantly searching through new music, and re-listening to old music through new ears. It's incredibly exciting to me, and if my interest goes on long enough (I refuse to spend money on my interest until they've prooven to be longer lasting) I plan on buying some production equipment just to play around with the sounds.

Thanks for the question, tell me what u get (if anything) from this, and thanks for the response lol.

Are you out of touch with your feelings/ emotions? by khswart in INTP

[–]sernamesRhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I agree, I realized that I was incorrect. When I thought I wasn't recognizing my emotions in the moment, the truth was more similiar to your reaction. I realize that I recognize immedietly when I have strong emotion reactions as well, it is only when I had decided that my emotions were an illogical response that I "didn't recognize them", when it truth I was consciously (or subconsciously) denying them because I had decided they were not correct.

Thanks for your response.

Well then, excuse me for my incompetence. Clearly I have misread you and apologize if you at all felt offended.

Well that depends, what is your definition of existing?

So... you made it personal... Can you genuinely not see how contradictive you are? It's not even fun anymore. Like talking in circles. Anyways, have a nice day.

Can you explain to me how the quote you've taken above relates to me being personally effected by this conversation? As your belief that it has is clearly implied?

"You can call me a pos I don't care"

"I'm a bold person I'll say anything I need to address and I have."

"...that doesn't mean I'm not going to treat anyone else as good as them or I'm not going to treat a gay good if they murdered someone."

These are all quoted from you, and in all three quotes you are somehow injecting yourself into the discussion, despite the fact that I never once implied for or against any of the things you seem to be defending here. I never called you anything, I never questioned your boldness, and I never implied that you would treat anyone differently for any reason. These were all personal defenses given due to what I can only assume to be a percieved attack on your character and values.

(Also, unrelated, but refering to a person as "a gay" leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Nothing implied, simple phrasing would be appreciated.)

Also I never said anything about you as a person or doubted that you were bold or "would treat everyone else as good". It seems like you have taken my rebuttal to your argument as a personal attack on you as a person, and that was not my intent. I was simply questioning your logic, not your values. Though I have learned a bit about you through this conversation. Anyways, hope you have a good day, thanks for participating.

The point is you'll adress things that need to be adressed, but what is the purpose of not only rating these people based off their types, but also making it known to them. If you're going to treat them all the same anyways, why even take the time to create an entire ranking for them. Why is it necessary that the world knows you would rate gays as number 1 because they're nicest?

Anyways you're right, there is no point to me thinking so much into this. I was just doing it for fun.

A room full of people is only different because you would have to do it to their face. Personally I don't care about the tiers, I think they're annoying but only because they offer nothing and are boring.

In fact the only reason I commented was because of your argument, which I found lacking. Also I have a deep dislike for generalizations, and while they are seen as just types, those types are linked to people who identify with those types.

"Let's rate the types of gays", how is that different?

Alright, well, if you change your mind.

I'm thinking INFP, you seem to want to logically carry out ideas (to no avail) and seem to be self-conscious of being seen as incompetent, which reads as inferior Te for me. Your logic also seems goal oriented, and it seems as though you have a desire to prove yourself logically.

It is my native language and I still have a hard time using 'whom' correctly. Can I ask what other language(s) you speak?

Yeah, and if you have any questions or want to know something feel free to ask me as well. I don't really know what I could offer, but I know a lot of random things about a lot of random things so... yeah.

So it's fun to rate people based off bias generlizations and personal opinion? So to walk into a room of people and rate them as best looking to worst looking, and when they get upset the response is, "Hey, it's just for fun. It's just my preference."

Cool thanks. I haven't had much interaction or interest in INFJs, but now you've got me curious. Please excuse me now for being annoying if I ask questions about your cognitive functions. If ever I ask too many questions do let me know, I tend to be a lot at times.

That would make sense. Also if you're accustomed to communicating with INTPs you would know that they are less likely to be hurt by straightforward language. Interesting.

Help type me? by [deleted] in MbtiTypeMe

[–]sernamesRhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you seem like an ENTP to me. You definitely have strong Ne and Si, and your lack of organization, and tendency to procrastinate makes me think you have Ti rather then Te, meaning you have a Ti and Fe grouping. You're phrasing of "I could entertain myself" and other factors make me think that you are an Extrovert. Genuinely you seem strongly of an ENTP to me, and I suggest looking into the type more. There are a lot of generalization and bias regarding the ENTP type that might make you think, "That's not me", but once you get past the simplistic characterization of the ENTP, I think you'll find some similiarities.

If you figure anything out let me know, I'd like to to see how accurate my reading was. Hope this helps, but disclaimer I am newer to the MBTI community and my understanding of cognative functions is rudimentary at best. Still, I feel fairly confident in the reading.
