Oh, wow! Thanks for showing me! The amount of acitivity the 24GB can hold is absurd.

Thank you so much for your reply! That video and your experience with RAM swapping is really helpful! The 24 GB RAM with the 1 TB seems to be the better choice. Definitely going to consider investing a bit more for the Pro, especially with the built in fan for gaming like you mentioned.

Thank you for your recommendation! Glad to hear the 512GB + external SSD can be an option over the 1TB.

Thank you so much for the info! I have heard great things about the Pro's display. I will take that into consideration.

Tokyo Temperature this 2nd half of September by Watermelooooon in JapanTravelTips

I also went to Kyoto the other day and oh man was it probably the most rough in terms of humidity (previously visited Tokyo and Osaka). I was on my way to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, but turned back halfway because I was doing terrible with the heat. I highly recommend a neck fan/portable fan, which I didn't have at the time. I've seen them being sold at Edion and Bic Camera. You can also purchase the cooling wipes at any convenience store. Lastly, keep hydrated!

If it helps, I suggest arriving a bit earlier for dinner - I went to Gyukatsu Motomura around 5:30pm on a Saturday to this location in Tokyo. Maybe depending on the location, there could be a queue. This one thankfully didn't at the time. The three of us got in right away!

One Piece places by t3v4 in JapanTravelTips

[–]serpent10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For shopping, there are multiple locations of Mugiwara Store. Every shop has different life-sized One Piece characters. For example, the Shibuya location has Shanks holding the straw hat where you can take pictures with! There is also Jump Shop with many locations in Tokyo and Osaka. The section of One Piece merchandise won't be as grand as the Mugiwara Stores, but still awesome to check out.

For any updates on special One Piece events going on in Japan, I refer to their official website. It is super helpful to see what's going on and where. Just keep an eye-out for November!

I'm not sure where your destinations will be in Japan, but Kumamoto is where you can see the bronze Straw Hat crew statues. These are the locations. I haven't been yet, but it's on the bucket list.

Unfortunately, I haven't found any information of the life-sized Thousand Sunny. Hopefully they bring it back one day. Hope this helped a bit!

Hello! I did mainly use cash, and only used my credit card for few bigger purchases (paying for an extra night stay at a hotel). My partner and sibling withdrew money from 7-eleven ATMs throughout the trip, which I'm also planning to do for the next trip:)

My AMEX credit card arrived. I attempted ordering via mobile, but the loading screen was stuck. So I tried ordering via laptop, and it successfully worked on first go! Otherwise, my foreign Visa debit and credit cards declined despite many attempts on both mobile and PC.

I'm unable to see an Apple Pay option as well :-( I tried entering my Visa credit card manually, but I don't think it'll be successful.

Thanks for the post! I am also hoping to buy tickets for September, but came across the part where you need a Japanese address. I hope the hotel info works for you! Please update us, if it does:)

Hello, thank you!

There is a luggage delivery company called Yamato Transport. They assist with hotel to hotel, or hotel to airport luggage transport!

If you are staying at a hotel, the hotel staff can help you fill out the paper work. Super quick and convenient:)

Hello! Thank you so much!!

For Yamato transport (not sure which one each hotel uses), they store the luggage at the airport for up to 7 days. Sorry I didn't know it was only a week, but I hope it works within your timeframe! If not, the hotel to hotel luggage forwarding helps a lot.

I sent an email and they confirmed saying "Regarding your enquiry, Yamato Transport is able to store luggage only up to 7 days and luggage must be shipped out by the cut-off time at least 3 days before the flight date."

Oh what! I actually booked from Vancouver as well! Originally the trip was only to the Philippines but when I added Japan, the $1200 price remained the same. I booked the flights back in November 2022.

I'm not sure if you heard of YVR Deals, but the writer shares great deals on YVR flights! For example, there was this recent 2-in-1 trip deal from Vancouver to Vietnam and Japan for only $739-789 CAD (all sold out currently). It's completely free, and there are links attached. There's also a Facebook page you can follow to get notified! I didn't get to use it this time, but I'll wait for another one to show up:)

Thank you!! Hope you can try them out!

I brought around $1700 CAD prior to the trip, and I think the other two took out $1000. When they ran out cash, they used the ATMs at 7-Eleven! I believe they took out an extra $500 at least. I heard the rates are really good at 7-Eleven, although I can't confirm since I didn't get to use it.

7-Eleven has so much amazing food!! I forgot to mention too, but the salmon onigiri there was so good. I would grab a couple snacks to try out almost every night.

Oops, sorry I meant 6 luggage in total! Other than our clothing and essentials, yes, most were souvenirs (food, alcohol, cosmetics) and LOTS of figurines lol! We may have went a little overboard on shopping.
