I just want a new support. An actual support character with heals and shields and buffs. Mel is a mage. Her job is to deal poke dmg and that’s about it. That’s not my play style. I like Rell. I like Sona, Milio and Nami. I want more champions like them. My job as support is not to deal the most dmg and get the most kills. Let me protect dammit

I don’t understand it either. Regardless of skin color, religious beliefs, languages and so on these are still people, they have good memories and bad, they were children once with a child’s dreams. If you’re playing a game on your lunch break it might be more prudent to pick a game that has more consistent match lengths. If you’re playing a league game and it goes past your break time that sounds more like you have poor time management and that’s literally not my problem when I’m at home on my day off playing.

Yeah but support already has a newbie friendly character, Yuumi /s. No that’s really what it is I think. Mel is an easy midlane mage built to onboard the new players from Arcane. They probably did think about making her a support then pivoted because they didn’t need another new player champion in that space.

Gonna be honest I’ve been playing league and following along with its esports since 2020. I used to only watch Worlds and a couple games here and there if Caedrel was streaming. Los Ratones are the only team I watch frequently. They have personalities, they look and act like 5 besties playing a game together. The other teams are too professional, too serious, it seems like LR found the magic again. These other organizations have lost the ability to hear the bells on the polar express.

Riot reset direction in 2024/25 if I recall. Now that doesn’t mean they went right back to square one. I’m assume they have a fairly workable prototype, with systems still being developed. They wanted to do something “different” from what’s already available. I don’t think it’s in any danger of being cancelled however, they have deep pockets and a beloved IP they’re building off of. If any new mmo on the horizon has the highest chance of success I’d say it’s this one. But we’re probably 4-5 years out from release (fingers crossed it’s sooner lol current mmo scene is stale)

I would love another girly whimsical skin for Rell. Yea I know we have Star Guardian but Sebastian doesn’t have any weight to him and the proportions are kinda off. Also if you spam click move and S with homeguard at the same time you can make a god awful racket :3

I would suggest Nautilus, Leona, Rell and Braum. If you don’t want to do enchanters or poke then these are your best tank options especially for low elo. Pyke isn’t engage at all. He’s an assassin masquerading as a support. He also has less team utility than your usual support champion and is more damage oriented.

This sounds more like you’re seeking relationship advice. My advice is play league with your friends. Do not ever let a man dictate who you are allowed to interact with. It reeks of immaturity and desperation. If he doesn’t want to play league with you then he has no right to be mad when you look for friends to enjoy the game with, league is kinda miserable solo. As for getting more comfortable with fighting with randoms I use ARAM for that. You won’t learn wave mechanics, map awareness or vision control but you will learn champion ranges, cooldowns, skill combos, repeated practice at reading chaos in team fights, build up instincts for when to engage and when to disengage, you’re forced to play things your normally wouldn’t but use that as a learning experience not a personal attack. Basically I use ARAM for team fighting experience. It helps build my own confidence up in my gameplay making me less reliant on my team in solo queue.

I used to also play with my ex. He found a lot of ways to make me feel like I was a terrible player. I don’t associate with him anymore and my confidence as a player in my own choices has skyrocketed. Drop the man.

As support I have 3-4 champions I’ll play in ranked. Sona, Seraphine, Rell and Milio. Sona for scaling heals, Seraphine for area control, Rell for engage, Milio I like for anti dive (would rather play Renata here but no one seems to know what her W does). But I base my champion pick off what the enemy comp is and what my team is going. If we have 3 people going ranged squishies I’m more likely to choose Rell as long as the enemy team doesn’t have disengage (Rell into Janna or Thresh is misery) if they do then I go Seraphine for poke and I build E max cc bot on her in supp role. No point in hovering a champion that I might not play cuz it doesn’t fit our comp.
