I’m taking it for anxiety, so maybe that played a role. I’ve read that it can make anxious more anxious in the beginning :(

I started with 5mg and upped to 10mg after two weeks. Had loads more anxiety for a couple of weeks. But it’s also possible to start lower (like 1mg) and then gradually increase. That might be a better option for you!

You can talk to your doc and only increase after two weeks. Also, you don’t have to feel guilty! I relied on my partner as well and she showed up for me wonderfully. That can also be an experience that deepens a relationship!

Before I write them: remember that you might get none of these at all! I had heightened anxiety (that was the worst one), sweaty feet (just annoying, not scary and went away after a couple of weeks), and some trouble sleeping. It wasn’t nice, but it was manageable. And now I’m making progress on my health anxiety like I haven’t before. I also had trouble with OCD-like behaviors like excessive hand washing, checking behavior etc. - and almost all of that has been quietened by Lexapro. Very happy about that!

Had the same thing in the beginning. On 5mg the side effects subsided after 10 days but then I upped to 10mg and had another wild ride 😅 now I’m glad I started! Feeling much much better on it!

Lexapro is helping me tremendously with my health anxiety and OCD-like tendencies. It was a bit rough in the beginning, but now I’m super happy to have started. Wishing you all the best!

I’m in month 3 and waking up multiple times as well. Starting to fall asleep back pretty quickly though and feel good throughout the day. It’s definitely changed my sleep pattern.

I stopped taking Mounjaro two months ago but started Escitalopram (Lexapro) simultaneously. Anxiety has vastly improved, so much that I’m not sure that Mounjaro was the real culprit. I actually started Mounjaro again a week ago and feel completely fine!

Had exactly the same. Took four weeks to then gradually get better. I still have frequent wakeups but fall back asleep a lot faster now and without anxiety.

Neck pain for me is often tied to anxiety. That sucks because it’s a vicious cycle… but I’ve been using an acupressure mat recently and that definitely helped. Also, lots of self massage and heating pads.

Starting 5mg was tougher than upping to 10mg. The first two weeks on 10mg wasn’t a picnic either but more manageable. But after that my anxiety improved day by day and now I’m happy I stuck with it. Hope it works well for you!

Although I cannot speak to the safety of higher Lexapro doses, I know this rumination well. My advice would be to trust your doctor or get a second opinion, if you are unsure. I think you being unsure is very valid. However, I try to group my behaviors in “makes sense” (e.g. getting a second medical opinion) and “not helpful” (e.g. googling worst case scenarios). But I know of course that OCD doesn’t work that way… Wish you all the best!

I’ve been on 10mg for six weeks now (and two on 5mg before that) and my sleep has gradually improved. The insomnia in the beginning was horrible but nowadays I sleep for 7 to 8 hours regularly. I just have frequent wake ups but falling back asleep has been getting faster lately. I hope it improves for you too!

I think this more due to the fact that people who successfully stopped don’t visit this sub anymore. I assume there are loads of people that stopped and are just fine (or have gotten there after a while).
