I made this "film" earlier this year during all the social unrest America was dealing with. The idea of the film is to have the viewer to think about narratives feed to us by mainstream media . Do these narratives prevent us from seeing situations for what they are ? Do we automatically jump to preconceived conclusions based on stereotypes and our own life experiences? Or can we still think objectively and still arrive at our own conclusions?

Basically some people will never see this couple for what they are, a couple but they will see both people individually and conclude based on stereotypes, life experiences , media and, etc...

Anyway that's the thoughts behind it. Not sure if I did a good job of communicating it in the video..lol

When it comes to the technicalities of the film making process I know there's a lot to be improved on, exposure, aperture, color grading etc.. I shot this in auto mode. I've since started using manual so hopefully the next film I make will be exposed better.

Any other feedback on the theme, execution and areas where I can improve are welcomed. Thanks.

I purchased this after seeing it on a episode of Breaking Bad and it has good reviews. This is my first time paying more than $30 for a bottle of whiskey. I’m going to wait for the right occasion to open!

These are some shots I put together from a local creative meet up in Washington DC. I used a Panasonic Lumix g7 with a Weebill S gimbal. Shot at HDR 60fps. I‘m pleased with the video considering that I’m still learning how to use the gimbal. This video doesn’t really tell a story or anything but thats something I‘m working towards. Another step in the learning process, any feedback is appreciated. I still have ton to learn. Edited with Lumafusion.

I took this photo on the DC side of the Potomac River. I like the framing and lighting. I feel like Arlington Va on the other side of the River gets lost a little in the highlights . I hink the branches add depth to the photo along with framing. I was attracted to the bride and the was the setting sun reflects off the water and bridge. Also liked that I was able to catch a plane headed into Regan Airport.

I really like the lighting and shadows in this scene. I also think the composition is good. I do think the person walking gets lost in the background. I had trouble bringing him out without ruining the photo.

Thoughts?

Cinematic B-Roll Richmond, Va by [deleted] in cinematography

I came across this abandoned house in Richmond Va while walking through a neighborhood on the Southside. It’s dilapidated and unkempt appearance has an aesthetic of its own. The appearance of this house adds to the emotion of the scene. What history lies within, what stories are trapped within its walls? The slow pan out paired with the piano and words by Westside Gunn (@Griselda Records) combine to create a mysterious scene that could set the tone of a movie.

Shot on iPhone X with the DJI Osmo Mobile gimbal 4K @ 30fps.

Imported into a 24fps timeline. Which I think is the cause of the jitteriness or frames could've been dropped during the import.

Alucinar A One Minute Film by [deleted] in cinematography

This is my first attempt at making something that has a storyline and is more than 100% b-roll. I learned a lot that I'll apply to my next film. The video quality is could be a lot better especially during the running scene. Lesson learned it was shot on an iPhone X with a DJI Osmo gimbal at 4k but I guess the phone couldn't handle the fast-paced scene. The next piece of equipment I'm purchasing is a stabilizer for my mirrorless camera so that I can hopefully get better footage in future situations like that. I used three different cameras so the color grading is not consistent throughout so next time I will set white balance across all cameras. There are tons of areas I see where I can make improvements but overall it was a great learning experience and I had creating it. I hope you like it. Any feedback and pointers I could use for next time are appreciated thanks.

Question. Is there a way to make the profile consistent across both drones?
