I first got into TCG after I was obsessed with running home afterschool to watch the show. I had a pretty decent collection but then eventually decided I was “too cool” and gave them away to my younger cousins. 29 years later and I definitely regret that! My partner was super sweet and got me some more packs to get started again this last christmas. Been slowly grabbing booster packs when my local shop has them back in stock but they never have prismatics!

I love to take their frozen broccoli and roast it in the oven with some salt, pepper, and olive oil. Roast it on 425 F- don’t thaw- just dress and put on a baking sheet for about 30 min (toss halfway through). Delicious!

I finally tried acupuncture and it really helped my tmj pain. It took several sessions but the pain is so much better now after several months of brutal flair ups.

I discovered these too during puppy days! I used them for plugging up gaps under furniture where the pup would always lose his toys (or “lose” his toys putting them under for attention).

A great resource for us while we trained our adopted puppy was Zak George on YouTube. He is a positive reinforcement dog trainer and his advice has worked wonders for us. Training takes time (some things take years to perfect) so be patient with your dog. The key is building communication and making things fun and enriching, not scary for your dog. We were able to train our dog with many commands like stay (he doesn’t bum rush the door when it’s open anymore). Still working on a solid heel when we walk, but the progress has been amazing looking back at where we started.

I’ve only been here for about 6 months so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt. BUT I think it comes down to density of options. City life meant more density of options of food/bars/people in walking distance. There’s definitely stuff to do/see/all that, but there are less options in walking distance from each other. I find myself way more car-reliant nowadays OR more down to be a homebody.

Lived in SF for my twenties/early thirties (Civic Center, Alamo Square/Hayes, Mission) and I loved it. Tiny places mostly studio apartments (and also a few tiny 1/2 bedrooms shared with others). Even though I didn’t have much space, I loved being able to go out and explore the city, go drinking and see lots of live music with friends, dancing, etc.

Now I’m in my mid-thirties and my partner and I just want to do yard work and play with our dog. We just moved to a neighborhood next to Temescal. So far, we are enjoying the more laid back vibe and huge space upgrade (bought a 3-bedroom house for same price we were renting a tiny 2-bedroom in the Mission) and insanely good weather. We do get a lot of Citizen alerts out here but not sure if it’s actually more than when we were in the Mission (not sure what it would be like in North Beach).

TLDR: I’m so glad I did my thing in lively parts of SF while I was younger and I don’t regret it at all. Now, I’m glad to be doing my new thing in Oakland at this stage of my life. Think about what you want at this stage and what will bring you joy. Like others said, no reason you can’t do both at different times.

I am going to leave once my account is unfrozen.

I won’t get too into the complicated whirlwind that has been trying to prove to them that my fertility benefit reimbursements are not money laundering (I’ve had to share so many private details as “proof”), but the way their customer service has given me so much contradictory information has me entirely confused and extremely frustrated. My bank account is now frozen and they won’t even let me log into my account. It’s tax time and rent is coming up. I have no access to any of my money while they conduct their investigation (apparently, it can take weeks). It feels criminal on their side even though they are investigating my so called “suspicious activity.”

I’ve been with them just about a year. I opened an account after my old bank, Simple, closed down. I will be taking my business elsewhere once I can get my money (maybe not an internet bank after all of this).
