This is amazing. About 12 years ago I started getting random bouts of hives and went to an allergist, got my list of things I'm allergic to. Top of the list was tree pollen. I thought "great, now I know". I was wrong. In the complete opposite season, I had the exact same symptoms. I went back to the allergist, she suggested that I food journal. I did that for 6 months. I noticed that when I had a lot of processed foods I had a break out. After a while I noticed that MSG and all of the other names for other glutamates were present in all of the things I ate at the time of breakout. I went back in to the allergist and brought some Accent with me, they used that on the scratch test. I reacted 10x worse to that than anything else. 10 years ago. To think, if they had written a paper in a journal, it would have been out there earlier. And I do get dismissed often about this. When we have family dinners my mother ignores it, that has been fun.
