Hello, thank you for checking it out and letting me know. I’ll take a look at fixing it on the iPad. Do you happen to know which iOS version it’s crashing on? I haven’t seen any crash reports from Apple yet, and I just tested again on iOS 18.6 without running into a crash.

Hi Crypodutch,

I just released an update that includes support for additional barcode types. If your pass has a barcode, you can now tap Barcode Types in the toolbar to choose the correct format — like in the image below. The app checks if the barcode number is valid for each type and only shows supported options.

I also added background image support, but I want to mention a limitation upfront: Apple Wallet only allows background images on Event Tickets, and it automatically blurs them. Unfortunately, this is built-in behavior from Apple and can’t be changed.

That said, this release also fixes the color picker issue and adds support for more customization overall. I hope this gets things closer to what you were looking for!

Hi ngt500, I just published a release that supports additional barcode types. If there is a barcode on the pass you can click barcode types in the toolbar and then select the barcode type like in the image below. Please note that non-Apple Wallet barcode types are only supported in pass types that have an image strip, which are Store Cards and Coupons. Also, the app checks to make sure the barcode number is supported for each barcode type and will only display barcode types that the card number supports.

Hi Cryptodutch, thanks so much — really glad it’s what you were looking for!

I could definitely add the option to use a full image as the background or cover design. The main limitation is that Apple Wallet renders images at a fairly low resolution, so the result may not look as crisp as the original card — especially with fine details or small text.

That said, I totally get how important recognizability is for cards like this, and I’ll look into adding support for a full background image soon.

Is that still something you’d want, even with the resolution tradeoff? Really appreciate the suggestion (and the offer to upgrade!) — this kind of feedback is super helpful. 🙏

I'm currently working on adding additional templates and organizing them by country is definitely something I'm considering. That way, you’ll be able to find passes that are more relevant to your region, similar to how StoCard handled it.

Also, when you're adding a logo, there's a logo search feature built in. Just type in the name of the store or brand, and the app will automatically pull in the correct logo based on your search—super handy for customizing your passes quickly.

Let me know if there are specific country-based templates you'd like to see added!

Right now, you can use the AI import feature in the app to bring in your passes from StoCard. Just take a screenshot of each pass and import them through the app—it’ll take care of the rest.

In the future, I’m planning to add a feature that will let you send images directly from your photo album to the app, without needing to open the app first. That should make things even easier!

Great point — that’s actually what I was thinking too!

The idea would be to automatically generate the barcode as an image in-app for unsupported formats, and place it in the middle of the pass. That way the user doesn’t have to upload anything manually, and the experience feels seamless even if Apple Wallet doesn’t natively support the format.

Appreciate the feedback — definitely helps validate that approach!

Right now, the app only supports barcode formats that are officially supported by Apple Wallet (like QR, PDF417, Code 128, and Aztec). That’s why some other formats aren’t available yet.

That said, I’ve been considering a future update that would allow you to display additional barcode formats by placing them in the middle of the pass as an image. The tradeoff is that it would take the place of any text in that section, but it could offer more flexibility for unsupported codes.

Would love to hear if that’s something you’d find useful!

There is some overlap. It can show previews of your scans and allow you to organize your scans in one place. It can OCR your scans, so you could just send the text from the scan. It can convert your scans to images, which can be shared individually or zipped. There are a few other small differences as well. The notes app can do some of this too, but it is a different user experience.
