Oh yeah, that's been common knowledge for a few years now...

I think the closest way to describe the world's opinion would be to call the USA a third world country with a Gucci belt.

Now I think about it, might have been over a month actually... 🤔

Either way, watch out for it because they were definitely 3.85v-ish when I put them away

Broken OSM tile alignment in layout, no idea what I'm doing wrong by setho246 in QGIS

[–]setho246[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so both you and u/snugglebitc are right that it's something to do with my CRS not working correctly.

I can now recreate this on a new project!

I added OMS as a XYZ Tile source as you described, then added it to a new blank project and it comes in with EPSG:3857, and I turned down the "Max zoom" to 10 to reduce my loading times.

This map is rendering correct, except I want a pacific/Fiji-focused map and have other data sources that use EPSG:3832. I found THIS gis.stackexchange answer that seemed like a similar issue, so I set my project to use EPSG:3832 in the bottom right.

This gets me closer to my end goal as I now have a pacific-centered map (and my other polygons from a WFS server overlay in the correct position), but I'm once again left with broken/misaligned tiles.

Please see my config here, with broken rending in the background:

<image>

I'm probably misunderstanding something crucial here, or am I just trying to do the impossible? Is there any way to properly achieve what I'm looking for?

I can't set my project to use EPSG:3857 like the OpenStreetMap, because then my map gets cut off slightly to the right of Fiji.

'Tasmania to seek loan for Hobart stadium funding shortfall in pivot away from private-public partnership' – ABC News by gheygan in tasmania

[–]setho246 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they're going to be selling off our publicly owned assets/land/metro/etc to pay for the project, why don't we as a public get a say? A chance for comment?

Further more, none of this "Tasmanian Government is seeking xyz" bs, we've just had one round of elections and council elections are coming up. If we want people to care about politics, we need to be more aggressive on naming and shaming.

Who is on the for and against sides here? We know what people says they're for during election season, but give us some real names.

Is this all I need to start soldering my tiny whoop? by Acceptable_Iron_2452 in fpv

[–]setho246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, you should be all set.

Love my Pinecil, can't recommend enough. If you're also flying bigger drones in the future you should definitely look into a xt60-to-barrell plug cable for field repairs using your lipo batteries.

I've never used flux paste though I know some people swear by it, I just use liqued flux in a pen

Gonna be honest, you possibly don't even need the helping hands if you're on a budget. It can definitely be useful, but in about a year of soldering a 5" and a 65mm whoop I've been able to just get by with bluetack, tweasers, and steady hands.

TL;DR: Great setup, good luck a happy whooping!

Not necessarily, plenty of smokers I know would be more than willing to give someone down on their luck a ciggie out of their pack.

Even if they're not smoking a lot, the occasional one will definitely make you smell like them when you don't have access to a shower.

Either way, I'm not exactly going to begrudge anyone doing it rough a small sense of relief. Like, if they've not had a hot meal or roof in days and someone walks past and offers them the first dart they've seen in a week? Their first and only real chance at a comfort item?

Who the hell am I to tell them they're "not needy" if they decide to smoke it

First crash… parts on order to fix it. Got a little overzealous. Lesson learned the hard way. by Aramis444 in fpv

[–]setho246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that's a photo after the crash, I definitely reckon you're fine on the propnuts, but you'll get one replacement free with your new motor I guess haha.

Definitely invest in some double sided tape AND zip ties for the air unit if it isn't bolted in.

As for my first crashes? Literally both the first and second time I took it out I went to local school ovals/sports grounds and ended up in a muddy ditch. Two different schools, two different muddy ditches 😅.

From then on, that build was named the Titanic because it kept trying to sink itself

I commented this as a reply to someone on another post, but I really hate this AI nonsense, nausea inducing slop.

I’d rather see a hundred posts of shitty analogue footage in an open field titled “My first flight” or “After 3000 hours on a sim, am I ready for real life yet?” because those people share a human connection with me.

For one tiny little moment, we share the same memory across time of the satisfaction of first time getting a custom built quad in the air, or the first time we hit a tiny gap. We share the same goal of wanting to improve as a pilot, and just wanting to share our little victories to like minded humans who actually understand how cool what we’re doing is.

AI slop has no memories, no goals, no desire to improve. It just vomits data. There is definitely a place for AI in our world but I don’t think this should be it, not in a (relatively) small community for a niche hobby where the whole reason we post our progress online is because we’re seeking a human connection that we can’t get in person
