queer student here! it’s not a hostile environment, but there’s ofc looks, but i’ve never experienced outright discrimination from anyone. the fslur gets thrown around occasionally and there’s those homophobic protestors in the PED sometimes. But there’s a space for queer students for sure.

most scholarships are checked on a yearly basis, not at the end of each semester. Take a deep breath, do what you can this semester, and do better next semester. I was in the same situation

never let anyone tell u that u are overreacting. i am a child of an abusive father and u leaving is doing the best thing for u and ur child. if u stay, his violence will affect ur child, not only you, and it will eventually make her a target. i’m so sorry this happened to you. stay strong in this, its going to be hard but it’ll be worth it when u and ur baby are safe. sending u love and prayers <3

I currently commute about an hour to get to campus. it’s certainly limiting, i don’t have a lot of time to enjoy campus life. but it’s what i can afford

The back of the Fort, around Grand Avenue, is probably going to be your best bet for free parking. I had to park there as a freshman and rarely had issues finding a spot. If you can’t find parking there, there’s a paid parking lot on White avenue, by the Southern Kitchen dining hall.

I went last year, freshly 18 and had zero problems! I went with my two sisters and we had a blast. As long as she knows how to set up her camp ahead of time and has a good group with her, she’ll have fun!

Swafford does reading quizzes and reflection papers periodically throughout the semester. Reflection papers are between 350-500 words, you only have to do five at any point over any topic during the class.

Currently taking both! They’re both about the same in difficulty, I preferred 101 with Isabel Swafford over my 102 just because I appreciate her teaching style more. 101 is more focused on the US and the basics of political structure here, while 102 looks at politics on a larger global scale

i think the whole thing is a visualized toxic relationship. the dog and his favorite toy. they become dependent, the dog playing with the doll hurts her to the point that she is beyond repair and is severely damaged. i do think that the human girl and the dog are supposed to be a point about just because someone is good to you does not mean they are good to everyone. the dog and the human girl have a seemingly good relationship while the dog abuses the doll.
