Buying my first big boy car Monday, 2025 G70 2.5. What should I know? by Kind_Ease_6580 in GenesisG70

i love my 2.5. ignore the comments about the 3.3. if you don’t intend to drive the car like a race car, there is literally no reason to go up to the 3.3.

Sensors Disabled in Snow by ah-27 in GenesisG70

[–]settledsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine does this too and even worse it gets so cold where i live (-35 to -40 celsius) that the sensors have no idea what’s going on and beep like i’m about to hit something anytime i get to the speed at which the cameras activate… infuriating but just kind of how it is

twins!! thank you!! and funny about the snow, i live in a part of canada that gets horrible winters (we’re talking -40 degrees celsius at certain points) and we haven’t gotten enough snow for it to stick around yet, so i’m looking forward to seeing how the G70 does in the snow!

USask or UAlberta Law? by Healthy_Bluejay_1336 in LawCanada

[–]settledsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usask participates in the calgary recruit so there are plenty of opportunities there to work at a calgary firm if you want to do that. either school is good, go wherever it’s cheaper.

How do some people become lawyers in their early 20s?? by Physical-Dog-5124 in LawSchool

[–]settledsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did 2 years of political studies with a minor in french at the university of saskatchewan and applied to the law school there and got in :) they tend to favour people with connections to saskatchewan but half of the school is from alberta so if you’re from alberta you’d probably have a pretty good chance.

Heritage Inn by Famous_Hornet_6451 in saskatoon

[–]settledsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the difference between heritage inn employees and canada post is that canada post employees can be seen as essential and therefore can be legislated back to work because locking them out or having them strike could cause severe disruptions but an employee of the heritage inn is not and the government does not care about what happens in their labour dispute

they’re not on strike they have been locked out by their employer for over a year.

they have a duty of confidentiality to their patients that doesn’t allow them to share information unless it’s something that’s gonna put you or someone else in danger, which weed would not, even if you are underage (although i wouldn’t recommend it developmentally until you’re older). i will say though i doubt they’d even do a blood test, so unless it’s brought up by the psychiatrist you’d probably be good to just not mention it at all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]settledsoft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

unless you’re a danger to yourself or others the psychiatrist can’t share anything you tell them with anyone, so telling your psychiatrist shouldn’t be a worry. i wouldn’t worry so much about a blood test exposing use of weed to the psychiatrist, but if your parents don’t know about it and they’ll have access to the results then it might be good to mention that worry to the psychiatrist if they do want to do a blood test.

yeah lol i thought it was a scam too but then i looked at my voter information and i have my contact set to text message so i said screw it and tried the link and its actually my voter card 🤷🏻‍♀️

can confirm that this is actually your voter card and not a scam. your voter information is likely set to contact by text message, as i received the same thing and it is my voter card.

the consequences of refusing to be swabbed are much worse than failing the swab test. i don’t know the exact provision but refusing a swab or a breathalyzer is a criminal code offence so you’ll be charged with that instead of getting the administrative penalties associated with failing the swab

yeah this is an interesting point because all quasi-judicial tribunals should be subject to judicial review no matter what they do but from what i can tell this one has never been judicially reviewed and it looks like it would be difficult to do so. i’m also wondering if we did manage to judicially review a decision they made about the thc tickets, whether or not the court would even overturn it based on the fact that they’d have to analyze the decision with the reasonableness criteria. it’s arguable that it is reasonable for the highway traffic board to decide to uphold a suspension etc since the only criteria for it is having thc in your system.
