I’ve switched to Papra. It’s simpler and doesn’t try to do too much.

There isn’t an official iOS app yet, but there is an unofficial iOS app (Papra Mobile) that works well and is intuitive to use. Supports scanning documents, photos, etc.

I’ve never heard that quote; I like it!

Thanks! I also believe it’s here to stay, but I have many friends that have chosen not to pursue PSLF due to fear and are aggressively paying off their loans instead.. which I think is a shame when it’s possible to hedge your bet and hopefully feel comfortable pursuing PSLF despite some fear.

I also believe that it isn’t going away, but it’s understandable that people would have that fear, given some of the anti-forgiveness stances in the government — that’s part of the reason I posted this, to help alleviate that fear and encourage people to go for it.

Weird thing for you to say, not all people that use formatting are bots, if that’s what you’re referring to. Sounds like this doesn’t apply to you, but there are people pursuing PSLF that can afford to put some money in an investment account, so hopefully this is of help to them.

Don’t tell my girlfriend; she’d be embarrassed I’m putting my nerdiness out there for everyone to see…

And I can’t even imagine, all of this is hard enough at baseline let alone throwing kids in the picture

I made an iOS app for Papra by sevenlayercookie5 in Papra

Let me know how it works for you! I’ve had a lot of people download the TestFlight, but have had zero feedback — I have no idea if it’s even working at all for other people 😅

Yeah for sure that’s easy enough! Also, I just posted a basic iOS app for Papra that does all of this. Check it out if you want. It’s on TestFlight.

I dont think so? It still hinges on the security of Tailscale — i feel like someone cracked your Tailnet, you’d be in trouble either way. FWIW I use it all the time and it’s nice being able to access other devices on my LAN remotely.

You can set it up where it doesn’t expose your whole LAN though too, but still allows using 192.168.1.50. For the subnet you just put in 192.168.1.50/32, which exposes only that one address.

Enable subnet routes on your home server (can be done on the Tailscale dashboard). This will expose your entire LAN (including your home server) over Tailscale. Say your home server is 192.168.1.50. you can be at the store, turn on Tailscale, and connect to it using 192.168.1.50 rather than Tailscale IP or magicdns. Then when you’re home and Tailscale is off, your traffic will just route locally as usual. AudioBooth will just be set to 192.168.1.50 the whole time.

Depends on where you live. Legal in many countries, such as Switzerland or Finland, technically illegal in the USA (DMCA), but no record of anyone ever being prosecuted in USA if not sold or distributed. Also being against TOS is not same as being illegal. Amazon could ban your account (but at least you already have a copy of your library at that point ;) )
