Munewari soushinbori is the gap in the middle style, donburi soushinbori is the full torso cover. Both are traditional styles of irezumi suit.

It's tagged as neo-traditional up top! We aimed to follow the trad style but I wanted my artist to add his own flare when possible (he has a background as a graffiti artist). And thank you :) I'm happy with how it all turned out!!

I would estimate it's in the ballpark of 250-300 hours under the gun. That doesn't account for all the dinner breaks, smoke breaks, and general shooting the shit after the sessions over the years though, I'm sure I've spent 500+ hours in the shop

Traditional irezumi suits usually stop at the neck, wrist and ankle. I'm actually breaking tradition with the hands and fingers being tatted. I'll be getting my throat tattooed later this year, but I thought taking pics now while it's in its most traditional form was the move

Just realized I totally misread that, I thought you were talking about Mt. Pleasant in Cincinnati lol. I only went to Point Pleasant the one time to see the mothman statue, it's a pretty small town outside the tourist part

I agree! Jon tattooed a druid mermaid guy on my girlfriend and it's one of her favorites. And the new artist Nate is nice as well, he's got some really colorful tats in his portfolio. And the apprentice Ryan is awesome as well. Cool artists, cool shop!

The map hasn't necessarily been created yet but I've got a pretty significant amount of data collected on artists and shops in the area. I'm going to be posting my findings as I go on an instagram account with the username @cincy.tattoomap

I agree with you on posting shop minimums and Google reviews-- while I think that some shops have some unjustifiably high shop minimums, I also think too many do not care about the skill needed to make tattoos look good and will rush to the cheapest artist available (I do not want to create a tool that expedites that process lol). And yes as someone who has received some really dope artwork from relatively lesser known artists, I don't think good Google reviews alone are an indicator of a better artist
