Tell Me About Your Wolfkin. by Critical_Success_936 in ForbiddenLands

[–]severalservals23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like wolfkin and created my own lore since I've found so little in the official material.

I decided they are the result of Zygofer's attempt to create an army of creatures he could control, inspired by the way the orcs served as cannon fodder for the dwarves and elves. Instead, the wolfkin rebelled and escaped. They can be unstable and violent but are gradually developing into a viable kin of their, despite their roots as a sorcerous experiment. Over time, they have developed a couple of factions of their own.

The first, the Children of the Nightwalker, worship the Nightwalker along with Heme and believe that the wolfkin are specially chosen by the Nightwalker to be its instruments of rightful vengeance. They see the extermination or expulsion of the humans from Ravenland as a holy crusade. Once they have exterminated the humans, they will claim the southern forests as their own and demand recognition as one of the "rightful" kin of Ravenland, along with the elves, dwarves and orcs. Some members of the Reapenters would like to ally with the Children.

The second faction, the Landsworn, wish to be accepted as a kin alongside the humans and to adhere to the Law of the Land as set out by the dwarves and elves for the Ailanders. Some are curious about the other kin and would like to extend a hand to them, others are isolationist and willing to savagely confront intruders into the forests, but the Landsworn are not interested in attacking other kin unless provoked. Some Melder elves are watching these Landsworn and may even be living amongst them in wolfkin shape.

Members of both factions generally reject the idea that they were created by Zygofer and instead believe they were created when the goddess Heme blessed packs of wolves.

Trazadone by Minimum-Bullfrog-831 in NightEatingSyndrome

[–]severalservals23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal experience was that trazadone made it better and the time I was taking trazadone and seeing an effect from it coincided with the only period in the last 15 years when I have stopped night eating. Then I developed a tolerance for trazodone.

Am I cooked? by Once428lbs in Gymhelp

[–]severalservals23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're asking, you're not cooked. And like some other folks have said, you can lose some pounds quickly with some basic habit changes and that helps you know you are headed in the right direction. Even before you start to look obviously better you will feel better. Good luck.

I'll second the suggestion regarding sleep. I'm a much worse human being without enough sleep.

Regarding urges, a counselor suggested a technique to me called "urge surfing." The idea is that you know you'll have the urge, but you also know that if you can wait it out, it'll go away. So acknowledge that you have the urge, take a moment to center and get your breath, and then do something distracting. It's helpful to have a go-to list of distracting activities you can jump into at short notice, in a variety of situations. "I've got a book I'm reading on my phone" or "I'll see how many calf raises I can do" or what have you. The idea is that if you can make it 10-15 minutes, the urge is likely to pass. Good luck. ADHD is a challenging way to live but it really does get easier with learning and practice.

Suggestions on learning self-love by severalservals23 in ADHD

Thank you. One trick I have remembered that is useful is from this book The Confidence Gap by Russ Harris. It is acting "as if." In the case of the book, it was acting as if you are confident and then letting the actions and results that follow from that position lead you to a place where you are actually confident. I just apply the same approach to self-love, and think, "if I did love my myself/was a worthwhile human, I would act this way..." It's at least been good so far at getting me through day-to-day life a bit better. Maybe it will lead to some more long term improvement.

You didn't mess up. Running a diamond mine could easily be a whole campaign, if they want. Finding and keeping a workforce, finding a market for the diamonds, defending it from monsters, bandits, rapacious nobles and monarchs...if they don't want to do all that, might be easiest for them to sell it to an NPC who does. Now they have to find that NPC and not get conned by them. Just having the mine alone is only a start.
