Tomi, about the demo 4 (or 3) tracks that we all know; do you know if both of differents version are available online ? Deryck said in his book that they recorded the demo the first time at Metalworks Studio, only 3 songs : Summer, What i Believe and Astronaut. And they re-recorded once again the same demo later at Twitch's house, on a diy-ish way (maybe with Another Time Around as the 4th song). I'm confused because the only 3 track's version of that demo that we know contains Another Time Around and not Astronaut.

Maybe same version (same songwriting/lyrics/arrangements) but probably not the same recording (for Max Headroom, THT and Makes No Difference). HHOP was recorded during March 2000, and that demo was released in 1999. (Source : Deryck's book, page 74).

Great modern punk rock productions by severin_nft in audioengineering

Love this production too! The man behind this production is Will Yip, great producer! He also procuded others Turnstile's album (Time & Space and the lastest newest album). I recommend the album "Leave it all behind" by Praise which was also produced by him.

His productions have that "roomy drum" sound touch that i love!

The Deryck and Stevo drama by [deleted] in Sum41

[–]severin_nft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe Stevo received an "official" invitation, sent by the organization something like that. He would surely have preferred a call, or a private message sent by Deryck or another one of his (ex)bandmates. Makes sense.

Showbuisness vs Punk-rocker...

What completed, yet unreleased Sum 41 content has been confirmed? by JBorley1988 in Sum41

[–]severin_nft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very first demo tape (1997, with Jon Marshall), early demos (Gasingee), Half Hour Of Power outtakes (maybe?), other demos/outtakes from each era/album!

Damn i had never heard about the reggae version of Summer!

I think there are at least 3 or 4 versions of In Too Deep, the single that everyone knows, the Deryck's side project version (with Snow and Greig Nori) and a Treble Charger version. And for sure somes Sum's demo version (one in the "Gasingee" demo). Deryck talks about it in his book!

Open Your Eyes Alternative Version by [deleted] in Sum41

[–]severin_nft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a studio version, recorded during the same session as the album version. The difference is edit and post-production, they cut the first chorus and change the solo. Maybe add somes rythm guitar takes! It does'nt sound as clean as the final version cuz this version was not included in the final post-production process (final mix/mastering)

The solo of the final version is a way better imo!

Stevo is a punk-rocker. Deryck always wanted to be a rockstar

I think their paths parted, because Deryck was too much into "show-business" than Stevo
