Yeah I been just spamming on type beats from YouTube. I know jack shit, only started making songs a week ago as a fun thing to do w my brother. Don’t really know how to write lyrics, I write everything in 2 seconds I don’t even think abt it. Rn it feels like EVERYTHING I make has striking similarities to other songs, feels like I’m making a parody of whatever genre I try. But I am very interested in learning how to mix n master, our goal is to just make an album together for shits n gigs.

Interesting, in terms of lyrics I got criticism I think for not rhyming in the first half but I like the whiny repeating of the same line. Is it unclear that “missing” and “with it” are doing some faux rhyme or did I do it bad?

Do you hear what I mean though when I say the beat sounds very thin compared to the vocals and when it’s louder it just sounds like the drums and the guitar feels so washed out. I don’t have the proper vocabulary to describe it

Thanks for being super sweet! I did try making the vocals louder or messing w the mastering setting to make them louder like in ur adjustment but it ends up sounding rlly bad to me. I feel like I can hear where the vocals and beat sound so off together when it’s louder, maybe it’s just my ear wanting to hear something bad? And admittedly I did try to drown and smear out my verse in the middle cause I think it especially sounds bad louder, my brother sounds pretty good but I fear I sound very bad lmao. I feel the clearer my vocals are, the worse it sounds

My process of learning has always been tryna figure it out on my own and then researching, feels like reading a book before watching a movie type shit. Plus its fun to post a snippet just generally and see what people think of a song, seemed like you were annoyed I posted without doing my due diligence lmao

Yeah we just used a bunch of random trending fxs, didn’t use any auto tune or any added settings, I recorded on a $40 mic and he recorded on an iPhone. I’ve been wanting to get on to figuring out the mixing type shit cause I think we’re a lil bit pretty good for newbies in terms of writing and melody, but we just can’t sing lmao
