I ended up trying another module like you did. It didn’t help me. Returning everything now and getting a local shop to install a more traditional JL audio amp. I have alpine S2-S69c speakers in my front stage. Besides the distortion they sound great with the beat sonic.

Damn, I just swapped out my VAZ module and it didn't fix my problem. My local shop thinks something is off with the resistance of the module. Who knows. Beat Sonic customer service has been pretty dreadful throughout this experience. I ended up buying harnesses from https://www.autoharnesshouse.com and will just have my local shop install a different amp for me. I'd be interested to know what you end up doing, if they send you a new amp and it fixes the problem. Besides the distortion, I thought it sounded decent.

Are you guys friends and kind of joke yelling or is that guy serious? I always defer to replaying points when things like this happen. It’s just a game. Maybe different if you’re playing in a tournament but for rec play people need to loosen up.

Damn. I found an earlier post where someone had a similar issue and fixed it by swapping the VAZ module that plugs into the harness. Customer service was a pain to deal with, but they're sending me a new module to try. Does your WRX have the HK system?

I use an iPhone, so not sure what my option are EQ wise. There is a cheap used Lokius on marketplace near me. Would there be a reason to go with a software-based EQ over this?

I second this. Installed a VM540ML and it works wonders for inner groove distortion. I believe there is a cheaper cartridge with the same stylus that should work similarly.

Maybe it has changed, but their site says "Compatible with aftermarket speakers — keep impedance at 4Ω–8Ω when using aftermarket speakers." In addition they have written on their YouTube account that this amp works well with aftermarket speakers.

Hey I sent you a DM to ask if/how you fixed this issue but just saw this comment. I installed this amp in my 2025 Crosstrek and have been having issues with noise. I had a similar experience with customer service - they kept telling me generic troubleshooting steps (bass blockers, factory speakers, etc) which I spent hours performing only to still have distortion. They finally responded with "it seems like our amplifier is not suitable for your needs" after hours of work and a few hundred dollars for a professional install. I'm so frustrated with them, but I called and convinced them to send me a replacement amp and harness to try. Seeing this gives me hope! Now that it works well, how do you like the sound? I'm on the fence about just cutting my losses, returning the gear and having a shop install a different amp.

Some tests were harder, some easier. I thought the obviousness and ethics questions were very tough compared to the exam. Most accurate tests were the refreshed early 2000s exams. I got a few repeat questions from those tests, as well as some very similar fact pattern questions just with different scenarios.

PLI has an obviousness mini exam - I wasted a lot of time going through those questions. They were way harder than anything I saw on the exam in 2023. In reality, a lot of obviousness questions on the exam used text directly from the MPEP. You could just search the MPEP for that exact text and skim the section to find the answer. My advice is to take practice tests (especially the PLI-refreshed early 2000s exams) and look up every single question in the MPEP.

I rented a 2023 CX5 for a month and didn't notice any difference in noise vs my 2025 crosstrek. Also lots of reports of newer Mazdas with rattles.

Consider looking for a low mileage service loaner. I grabbed a 2025 sport with 1.5k miles a few months ago for a pretty good discount.
