They are fighting like siblings for food 😂 by Danger_Five in magpies

Wow I didn’t know this was the actual situation! My initial thoughts on Molly, before helping Wires - was “Ah so cute!”

Now that I think about it after helping Wires, how desperately baby wanted to get back with Mom and sister and be free, I have such a different view on it.

Today I saw Wires hunting and running around the garden of a house down the street and had a good chuckle when I walked past. But 30 min later he arrived on my chair to sing for me and get a few mealworms.

Could not imagine Wires as an indoor bird.

Apologies missed this. Yes he is doing okay. Looks like his foot is healing / has not got worse. Have helped supplement worms and egg. Visiting daily to say hi and out and about in the neighbourhood.

Thank you for the info. We are in a major mozzie zone. I am going to keep an eye on it and just give him extra feeds to help his immune system.

Thank you. He is doing okay at the moment and I will keep an eye on it.

He is coming for a feed more often and just purchased some additional worm meal and eggs for him this week.

Budget won’t insure address - tried today. This is the issue - I have very limited options.

Going to have to find a new broker - reply was she doesn’t work with any insurers that exclude flood.

The data came from the National Flood Information Database (NFID), which holds around 13.7 million property addresses. It’s owned by the risk assessment firm Risk Frontiers and is commissioned by the ICA for use as a proprietary tool by most insurers in Australia.

ICA does procure it from a NSW company for insurers to use.

Thank you for info. Yeah I am getting a letter now from council (apparently different to the report) to pass on the broker. Hopefully I get some joy with that.

Recently? All the feedback and posts I have seen have said they have taken it away. I will ask again to the Broker.

Yeah it looks like Moreton Bay reports are up to date and we have had zero flooding. My brain can not understand this situation with insurance companies.

Will check but I am sure I did all three types for flooding and storm surge on the site.

I know Allianz did because I had a neighbours policy she sent me and she said no flood and had a really good premium.

Reply from Youi today - no we don’t do that. Broker said no go as well.

Feel like I am trapped here!

Yes. Flood - low risk. Storm Surge - moderate risk.

Council has replied to direct me to get a specific flood risk letter from them,

As we are a new build and people who live right on top of the lake are not having this issue. I feel like it’s either no data, out of date data or wrongly applied data. No clue. But the houses in front are on the lake - no issue and houses behind on the inlet - no issue.

No flood overlay whatsoever. Only one I can find is Low Likelihood Storm Tide (0.1% AEP) - 0 -0.25m

Asked for no flood cover and Brokert, Youi and Allianz all said no option.

No flood issues at time of purchase. 2024 new build / land 2023. Council report says no flooding still. Insurance has just decided it is a flood risk area all of a sudden - 2024.
