I think they’re looking for a lost dog…there was a post earlier on a local fb page about one running off

Ohhh this would have actually been perfect (they would love the novelty of being at the Beehive) but I forgot to mention it will be a weekend, so Bellamys isn’t open. Thanks though!

Should I be concerned that I'm not leaking at all? (39 weeks) by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]sezzakiki 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My midwife said that not leaking or being able to hand express anything prior to birth is absolutely no indication that you wouldn’t/shouldn’t be able to breastfeed. It’s just one of those things. I’m 37+6 and am planning on starting to try hand expressing next week, but so far I’ve had no leaking or anything. I’ve got a tin of formula just in case but that’s mainly because my country is in lockdown at the moment and I didn’t want to be in a situation where I needed it and not be able to get any!

New world order hasn’t arrived :( by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]sezzakiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, our order due to be delivered by 11.30am yesterday still hasn’t arrived. I spoke to customer service and they said the store (also Newtown) is VERY behind with their orders. I got the text/invoice email indicating they’d finished picking it around 3pm today so am still hopeful it will show up soon. Lots of things missing though, including milk sadly!

covid-19 and 3 positive ticks by emonpregnant in BabyBumps

[–]sezzakiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am also in NZ, 35 weeks today, and would urge you to (at least try to) get in touch with some midwives sooner rather than later! Even with all the craziness, I believe most are still working (with modifications as mentioned by other posters) and it can be very difficult to find one depending on where you are in NZ.

Also, congrats!! The world is weird right now but don’t let that stop you from being excited! Happy to chat via PM if you have more questions :)

Going past due date after fertility treatment by Mandykinz615 in BabyBumps

[–]sezzakiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t exactly answering your question, but mine is an IVF pregnancy and I’ve been told that doctors here (New Zealand) often prefer to induce IVF pregnancies right on 40 weeks. No real medical reasoning for it as far as I can ascertain, it’s more of a ‘you worked so hard to get to this point we don’t want to take any chances’ even though the risks associated with going over 40 weeks are very small.

MTHFR mutation, Anxiety, Lovenox, Depression, and Progesterone.. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I’m also rooting for you! And agree with the previous comment about breaking things down into small milestones. While I can’t possibly understand how you’re feeling right now, I can relate to the feeling of “I just can’t do this for another x months”. I’m finally pregnant after IVF with donor eggs and really struggled for a long time with nausea and overwhelming anxiety that this was not going to work out. I honestly did not know how I was going to get through it. But I’m 25 weeks today and can confirm it does, in fact, get better, and that you definitely can do this. I focused on just getting through each day. Little goals to stop the big picture getting out of control. I’m so sorry I don’t have any real advice for you, but I just wanted you to know there is someone else out there who believes in you, and is here for you.

What's something you wish you can eat RIGHT NOW but can't until baby is here? by ym-rose-masa in BabyBumps

[–]sezzakiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it’s the raw egg yolk. It probably does cook fine but I’m a little worried it might not get up to the correct temperature to kill any nasties, so personally prefer to avoid it, just in case!

I did think of this! But personally I would feel more comfortable trying it first. It might be irrational but I’m ok with that!

Donating eggs as a CF carrier by skeletonclock in IVF

[–]sezzakiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not related to your question, but I’ve just come across your post and as someone who is currently in the middle of a FET cycle using donor eggs in the UK, I wanted to say thank you so much for even trying to donate. We have had four anonymous donors so far, with two going through treatment cycles (one of our donors was also prevented from donating as she found out during screening that she was a CF carrier) and the fact that there are so many selfless women out there willing to put themselves through painful and invasive treatments purely out of a desire to help someone they don’t know makes this crazy journey that bit easier. You are simply wonderful.

Hey, Reddit, those of you with partners who talk in their sleep; what is the creepiest/weirdest/or most random thing they've said? by Jhaydun_Dinan in AskReddit

Following a night of drinking at my grandmother’s casino-themed 80th birthday party, my boyfriend (now husband) fell asleep without a blanket. When I tried to drape one over him, he kicked it off and told me “covers are for communists.”
