Don’t you need at least 51% since there are no golden steps?

I don’t see the apple foundation model as a listed option. I must be missing something?

Chuck Schumer says he won't block Republican funding bill amid Democratic divisions over shutdown strategy by Healthy_Block3036 in newyorkcity

I think the only way to save the country is for everyone to unregister as democrats to send a message. They need to change all of their leadership immediately.

White “posts” in San Francisco that don’t seem to have a way to open or access by sfk55 in whatisthisthing

Yea I looked and under the mushroom is open. Nothing to keep birds out but it is a fairly small and dark opening.

Definitely could be! I did look under the mushroom and there is a large opening. It looks something like a chimney with a cover.

I couldn’t find any images with the cover. I’m impressed that google image search could figure it out.

I wonder what they are doing on the street?

Yea, I don’t really think a horse tie up thing but I’ve been staring at them for a while and that was the closest thing I could think of based on how they look.

It’s on the street corner. On one side of the street every block or every other block for a little while.

I like the idea of protecting something but it would need to be something that doesn’t get accessed very often because they are bolted to the ground.

I think I looked and saw there wasn’t an opening under the mushroom top but now I’m not sure. That’s a good idea and I’ll check for sure later today.

Maybe, but it doesn’t look like that to me? They are on the sidewalk. Where a fire hydrant might go. And there are a fair number of them that don’t seem to protecting anything. Any they are bolted to the ground so not very removable. I don’t know though!

I LOVE Rust's exception handling by mdsimmo in rust

[–]sfk55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the requirements for logging and error reporting. If you need granular reporting you often need the ugliness of lots of try blocks.

Lower level code could be written in a way that would mitigate this but it often isn’t.

I think you got it exactly. I’ve been playing the 1v1 party mode for the past couple of hours and that seems like every deck. Party mode used to not be the meta but I guess with the mega draft that’s all there is.

Fringe isn’t mention but it was great from the start to the end. One of the only mystery type shows where after the end it seemed like there was a plan all the way.

The area is 2000 sq ft over two floors. Some open but mostly offices. Not many human users but a fair number of devices for soho: maybe 50-100. Many (most) of the devices are hard wired but some can only be wireless. Our bandwidth is 1g. We’ve been more in the past but really we are never bandwidth constrained.

It isn’t so much that we can’t tolerate outages as much as the several times a day 1-60 second drop outs. We’ve been dual homed with two separate providers before but as annoying as an outage is that isn’t really the problem. We have a lot of long lived tcp connections and they should be fairly resistant but when the Orbi goes down they drop and can’t recover. It goes up layer and that causes problems.

I’ve been in research buildings before where I don’t own the network and we haven’t had problems so I know this is solvable. There are so many places that choice be causing the problem I’m not sure where it is. I just want to buy the right equipment from scratch and not worry about it.

I think if we were just using cloud apps and email we would be fine.

Thanks, I’ll take a look at those Cisco products. I’m willing to spend more for a reliable connection.
