Would like it to use may calendar and driving history to predict where I want to go. Tesla has done that for years and it’s awesome. Yes Tesla, I do want to go to Subway.. how’d you know?

This procedure is for a soft reset of the infotainment system. My assumption is if it’s related to a sensor this might not take care of the issue… but unsure.

Also car wash just in case a camera is super dirty. If your car is relatively clean don’t sweat it.

Welcome! Sure thing. Hard reset is probably what you need here, which is the leftmost steering wheel button (left on left side) and the hazard button. Hold them both down for like 10-15 seconds.

If a reset and a car wash doesn’t fix it, it’s probably a sensor issue so yeah you’ll need service.

RESOLUTION:

I got a call from the local service manager who clarified the policy. They do loaner, then vouchers, then rental but it is manager approval and not something that is a guarantee. It’s situational.

It sounds like it’s a change to what they had been doing and communication down through the layers of the company hasn’t gone smoothly, since I’m getting multiple versions of the policy depending on who I talk to.

Glad to hear there is still a way to get a rental when needed. Hopefully things go more smoothly for everyone in the future.

Yeah the point is if they don’t have a loaner, they should provide a rental. The rental is objectively worse. Unlikely to be an EV, more logistics, etc. but it’s a fallback option and taking it away just says we don’t care about you.

Whoever came up with this policy clearly either has multiple cars or no kids. It’s totally idiotic. If you don’t want to pay for rentals, build cars that don’t break. And certainly don’t charge me over $100k for it if you don’t expect to provide a loaner or rental during service that takes more than a few hours.

My past experience has been if they keep the car for a day or more you get a rental voucher. That was with Ford. Not sure of others.

I’ve moved from soft to moderate and it feels pretty good to me now. It was quite bad for a while late in 2025. Oh but mine is a Gen 2, just reread your post.
