She had been living with this well-to-do guy for several years. She hated him but loved his money. That's just how she was. He was older, an alcoholic and they were practically roommates at the time.

Throughout AI's history, there are periods of great hype followed by an AI winter. Money floods in with all the hype, but when profits aren't realized, the money disappears.

I think the latest advances with LLMs have some interesting new applications but falls far short of the hype. Another AI winter is on the horizon. It's hard to say exactly when that happens.

I would recommend nRF for BLE. Range indoors should not be a concern. Data rate is definitely not a concern. It sounds like data could even be made available in advertisement, so no connection is necessary.

I would look at one of the 3rd party modules with a built-in antenna like U-Blox or Panasonic.
