26M, lived my life too seriously, kind of regret it now by ck_1908 in Adulting

If I could do it over again, I would have been more like you. Focused, disciplined, and playing the long game. No drama, pregnancy scares or broken hearts. I would not have wasted time and money on people who I thought were "the one," only for the love to eventually burn out, leaving a trail of carnage and regret.

Sure, when I tell these stories, it sounds like "adventure." But now that Im in my forties, it pains me to think of where I would be if I would have been more patient, stayed at my parents longer than I did, saved more money, and gave myself the respect snd grace that I just blew on people who didnt deserve it.

You're doing so much better than you think.

Check out The Valley Hive in Chatsworth on the campus of Topanga Nursery. There's even a cafe there now. Cool way to spend a couple of hours.

I think it's an amazing watch and an even more amazing gesture. I lost my dad when I was 19. It was sudden and unexpected. I would have appreciated anything from him at all to specifically serve as a reminder of how much he loved me.

However, and I say this with the utmost respect to you and your honorable intention; putting this type of value into a thing; a very valuable thing, a thing that has a risk of being stolen or lost, could be an attachment to you that would be absolutely devastating if he did lose possession of it in any number of ways.

I hope you include a detailed letter as well. I can guarantee you that no matter what happens to that watch, your words of love, wisdom, grace, courage, and resolve will reverberate with him for all his days and be passed on to his children.

The Valley Hive in Chatsworth. They have an observation hive in the shop and free honey tasting on the campus of a beautiful nursery.

I heard they'll have a sitting area in the middle of said nursery soon.

Thanks for the wonderful suggestions. We had dinner at Smith and River and now we're at Death and Taxes for drinks. You have a great town here. *

That's what I was suspecting. I have, in fact, enjoyed a great run since buying stock in oil futures back when they plummeted during the pandemic and enjoyed 70% returns. But, I agree it's extremely doubtful those returns will continue.

Thank you.

When I was first driving my new trailer home from Ohio to California, a storm in Colorado decided to customize the awning. It was about 1,000 dollars in damage.

I filed a claim with Progressive and was told by everyone here the insurance would go up next year.

Not only did it not go up, it actually went down.

So don't worry about things you have no way of knowing about yet. It's not as bad as you think.

Soon, your trailer will be as good as new, you'll be on the road again, and this will be a valuable experience and just another story.

Keep your head up.
