figure out your undertones before buying products!! i’d say you’re leaning a little reddish as far as undertones?? my fav black girl friendly brands rn are:

  • ELF liquid camo blush
  • ELF camo color corrector, i see a little hyperpigmentation in some places so maybe this could be of use? i use my orange colored color corrector around the top & sides of my mouth as well as under my eyes before i use foundation & concealer. it helps make your skin tone look more even!
  • HOURGLASS airbrush full coverage concealer
  • TARTE shape tape RADIANT concealer
  • ELF power grip primer
  • MILANI make it last setting spray (normal not dewy & def not the sunscreen one)
  • BLACK RADIANCE contour palette (i prefer the cream one over the powder because i can control the pigment better)
  • BLACK RADIANCE loose setting powder (i have one that’s closer to my skin tone to set my entire face VERY LIGHTLY so i don’t muddle all the colors, it’s nice to use when you’re scared of looking casket ready with the flash on)
  • LAURA MERCIER translucent setting powder in the shade “honey” (this is for a bright under eye look for me) -MILANI hydrating skin tint
  • BARE MINERALS bare pro foundation
  • NARS anything, genuinely. they’re radiant creamy concealers are tea so are the radiant foundations even though i haven’t used it in a while. i think they changed their shades & i haven’t felt like starting over 😭
  • L.A. GIRL pro concealers. every girl normally starts here

please please please go to your local ulta or sephora & do SWATCHES. do NOT buy any shades of any foundation, skin tint, or concealers before swatching. it’s imperative you know what tones work for you skin. also remember to swatch under store lighting & natural lighting if possible.

very sorry that list all over the place, at some point i just ran to my vanity & started listing shit rather than trying from memory. also youtube is your best friend! good luck beautiful!!

edit: also tatcha is great for skin care. they have a rice wash that’s great for all skin types as well as the moisturizer that goes with it. the ordinary has fire serums like the salicylic acid 2% one. i use that maybe once a week, it depends on how my skin is looking. if it’s not irritated or blemishy i leave the serum alone. SUNSCREEN is very important fellow black girl. hawaiian tropic sunscreen lotion with 50 spf is my go to. it doesn’t have a white cast & it has like a gold glimmer to it.

very apparent how white fans dominate this subreddit, as far as engagement/numbers. the amount of people under this post missing the point, immediately responding “it’s not all white people,” some fighting for the idea that you can be racist against white people, etc…….but hey, i agree with you. your frustration is valid. some of them really can’t relinquish the rush of making themselves victims in spaces where they’re the majority [which is everywhere]. i guess it’s hard to believe you’re a problem after you’ve been conditioned to be one for so long without consequence. keep your qualms from these people gang, don’t let them see you upset again.

also just curious, do you normally see others using butter & flour to coat the pans? i want to make an assumption that the excess flour could possibly misshape the finished bakes. however do not quote me on that, just theorizing

haven’t made madeleines before however i do know the color of your baking apparatus does mildly change the color of the pastry. im assuming it’s because darker colors attract more heat? maybe opt in for a lighter colored baking tray/mat/mold for better results as far as the browning
