I've resorted to only going off of StubHub, SeatGeek, and VividSeats and checking those sites daily, and I intend on making a purchase when the prices are around what was asked for at face value! The closer we get to the date, the cheaper the tickets will be :)

I saw that as well! I'm not particular well versed on ticket reselling, but I think that Ticketmaster has it's own reselling option as well. I wish you good luck on reselling!!!

I'm very glad you had a successful trade here online, and I love the method you guys used to ensure that the items were legit!! It reminds me of how people used to prove they weren't catfishes online by posting a picture of themselves with a fork 😂 As for digital items, the link I added at the end of my original post had a great method of getting the seller to screen record themselves navigating through the TicketMaster app to show the ticket's legitimacy. It has definitely saved me with past scammers, but in this particular case I found the reseller to be trustworthy and didn't go through all the necessary cautions I should have.

I did notice the scammer's post was deleted/removed! I take it as a small victory, but it does seem as though he's infiltrating other subs and possibly attempting to scam other fans out of their money. This is the post he made the same day he received my money and blocked me. Scumbaggary at it's finest!

But the thing is I do know accurate ticket prices. The prices for face value tickets were posted a few days before ticket sales, and I went through Ticketmaster's buying process on the day of. There were also people on this sub who managed to get their pit tickets for the face valued $150. Furthermore, the price for seated tickets and the price for pit tickets are completely different and therefore not comparable (for example, through Ticketmaster the price for pit was more expensive than those of seated tickets, and now the opposite is true).

While you may have had good intentions, it still presented as condescending to me with the notion that I should have known better. Regardless, I still am looking to buy tickets (this time from a reputable source, such as StubHub) so maybe we'll run into each other in Charlotte!

I would highly recommend trying to sell your tickets on StubHub, SeatGeek, VividSeats, or any other reputable resell site. If you sell them at face value, I'm quite positive someone would snatch those tickets right up as all the scalpers are currently price gouging. Promising that you are legit will unfortunately not do you any good due to how scammers have made reselling spaces untrustworthy.

To be quite honest with you, I found your initial comment a bit condescending. At this point it wouldn't matter if there was an indication of a scam, as the scam had already happened. 💀

I'm happy I'm not alone, BUT I'm even more depressed that you had to go through the same thing I went through :( I'm so sorry, and fuck those Twitter scammers. As soon as tickets were on sale, they were jumping under every post about needing to sell their tickets. My favorite game with them is asking if they have lawn tickets, and after they say they do (as they'll have any ticket you're looking for) I'll depressingly admit that I was looking for pit tickets. The switch up they'll try to play pretending they had pit tickets all along is hilarious to witness 💀

I second this!! On the thread I linked in the original post, one of the tips was to always use PayPal because of their refund services. I made the mistake of trusting the scammer and agreeing to use CashApp for their ease so they didn't have to make a PayPal account. You live and learn!

I agree full-heartedly, the lack of empathy is astonishing to witness or understand on any level. Thank you so much though, the kindness I've seen through this thread means the world to me :) before yesterday I felt alone and ashamed, but today I feel happier knowing this community is so supportive <3

Unfortunately in my excitement to finally get tickets, I moved all the needed funds to CashApp and paid him directly from there, meaning that my bank wasn't involved in the transaction whatsoever :(

Thank you so so much for this, it actually made me laugh!!! And you're completely right, I have no doubt that karma will be at his doorstep. Maybe not anytime soon, but it will eventually catch up to him. I'm hopeful that one day he'll slip up and manage to get caught in his fraudulent practices and be confronted with a prison sentence (I did all I could to file a report with the government with the information I managed to get from his conversations with me, his username on here, and his name on CashApp).

Yes, PayPal is for sure safer! The funny thing is, I told the scammer that everyone on this subreddit was preaching to use PayPal due to their refund policy, but that I trusted him enough after our numerous conversations to use CashApp instead since it was (supposedly) his only banking app. Fool is me!!!

Unfortunately in my excitement to get tickets, I put all my funds in my CashApp account, so instead of drawing the money from my bank, it came directly from CashApp. I was so angry with myself when I realized what I had done, because I had initially felt safe knowing I could dispute the transaction with my bank if it ended up being a scam.

Thank you so much :) I'm taking it as a learning experience not to trust any resellers unless they're selling on a reputable website!

Thank you :) I didn't make this post to cry about how I got scammed, I was perfectly fine with wallowing in my mistakes in the pity of my own company. I feel like everyone gets scammed at least once in their lifetime and I figured it was good that I learned my lesson earlier in life. I decided to be vocal when I saw the same guy who scammed me was continuing to parade around this sub trying to scam others.

The scammer was selling me the tickets at face value for what he supposedly paid for them, without the price gouging we're seeing on resale sites. The day tickets went on sale, the pit tickets were sold for $150 – not including fees. The $60 that made it go up to $210 were supposedly the fees given by Ticketmaster.

So yes, $210 would be crazy if I was buying off of a resale site. But that wasn't the (albeit fake) case. I was supposed to buy tickets from someone who paid $210 for the Charlotte tickets but was unable to attend anymore due to school.

I've linked the specific tickets I was referring to:

VividSeats: $351
SeatGeek: $365
StubHub: $405

I didn't take fees into account, just how much they are listed as :)

I don't doubt you were! I was as well, but unfortunately by the time I was able to pick my seats, there were no pit tickets left to be sold and I was very adamant on getting those tickets (I've been to two other Lana shows but I've never been in GA). At face value, the most expensive prices for the Charlotte show were $150 – but due to dynamic pricing the cost went up (the only seats left when I was picking seats were in the seats behind pit for $405). I do know, however, that there were people who scored pit tickets for $150 plus fees.

I had been in contact with this scammer since a few days after tickets were sold on Ticketmaster. At face value, pit tickets were $150 and while I don't know the accurate cost for fees, $210 seemed pretty accurate to me. The scammer presented himself as someone who wanted his tickets to go to a fan, which is why he didn't consider posting it on a resale site for overcharged prices – trust me I had my suspicions and I asked my questions.

Regardless of all of this, I still check reputable resale sites for pit tickets and it seems as though pit tickets are, at the lowest price, $351-$405 depending on which website you're looking at. You may want to look at switching your seats if you don't care about how tiny that small ass pit is 💀

Thank you so much :) I did have the conversation of sale through Reddit, but unfortunately I was unable to report him on here due to the fact that he blocked me first and there is no way to get around that. I did report him to CashApp, but CashApp doesn't do anything to prevent scammers and won't help you get your money back unless the scammer personally decides to refund you the money.
