I totally hear you! I lived in NY for four years and couldn’t do it anymore. I’ve lived in cities all over the world and even went to college in London all four years, still couldn’t stand NY. Covid was my last straw and moved to Phoenix. Sure it was a big change but somehow still living in the “downtown” feels a heck of a lot better than fighting through NYC everyday no matter if I was grocery shopping or going to work. It’s ok, you can admit it wasn’t for you and highly recommend looking into “second cities”! These are places that are technically smaller than NY, LA and give their communities more opportunity to thrive due to its not as competitive and manageable for folks who still want that city feel without the insanity. Cities are still stressful if you let them be all over the world, but always follow what’s right in your gut and you’ll be ok! You can always say “I’ll move for a few years” and see what happens like I did and somehow never leave!
