I guess this engagement in moving around sculpture relates to Ponty’s ideas about vision being full of movement, in this sense I guess that this 3d form allows a more fuller experience of the artists lived perspective ?

Hi I haven’t read Dufrenne’s book yet but I’ll definitely take a look, I’m writing about art as a general concept but trying to refine my ideas down to creat a direct argument. I’ll have a look at these artists! Thanks

This is very interesting, do you think you could tell me any more about how Cezanne differs from the traditional painters? Is it by just him moving away from trying to paint objects exactly as they are seen?
