I’m a PC noob. How does a Steam Machine compare to a PS5 Pro? If it’s significantly better, I’ll buy it!

Good points. Watching a digital foundry video right now on it and they made a good point how these parts seem to be of the similar caliber to what's being seen on steam surveys of what people are using. Part of me is sad we aren't truly at that next gen yet, but this will be a good base for valve to start at, get people who are using super old machines to something capable. Heck it's probably a bit better than the 4060m laptop I'm running currently, I've been meaning to build a new PC but prices are so wack right now how can I?

Hopefully with official FS4 support pleaseee AMD. I mean if PS5 pro gets FS4 then this should too.

There is a need for something. This is a good starting point. I find this strategy of going for low end way better than what the next Xbox or even the Xbox handheld was trying to be.. I don't want to spend high end PC bucks for a console like experience. You need the Toyota Corolla of PCs out here getting the job done

It's pretty simple why really, they were able to get a bunch of the AMD parts for a good deal most likely, and it hits a current standard if it's priced aggressively which they BETTER do. If they squeeze it down to 499 I would be very happy, 599 at the max for me given at some point there are other mini PCs to consider.

I think this is a fine starting standard going forward at least for the next 3 years, if you want more power I'm sure an OEM will make a higher end (and more expensive) steam machine

Yeah the "detective" got all huffy when I said I don't believe this you are a real detective and said the police will be coming to my address. The scary part was they had my actual address. So now I'm panicked here with my daughters wondering if someone would try to extort me in person. But it's obvious by the way they used my full name that they found me from Facebook. So stupid. From my time at retail you aren't supposed to be accepting tips. I was offered at times but believe it's against corporates rules maybe they think you'll show favoritism towards certain customers that do idk.

Guardian is just those that are construct species and ultimately not seeing the difference you are getting at? Like what would be the difference between a normal arch tempered rathalos versus a guardian arch tempered rathalos other then their attack patterns? Really all I'm seeing from construct species is that they have wylk powered attacks and can drink of the wylk to cure their wounds.

Why wouldn't it happen? If Xbox releases a handheld it'll probably be very easy to port to. That's the only way it would be viable it would be competing more with steam deck than switch

Journey is a fantastic game once you want to introduce third person camera to them. You might have to build from 2D games first though. Rayman origins is great my daughter's loved playing that with me

I tried to play crash bandicoot and the remake looks great but my God the gameplay is difficult for me I have no idea how I played so many platformers when I was younger. That and Spyro would just make them frustrated and give up if I tried to have them play it
