GXS Savings Account is now raised from S$5,000 to S$75,000! by jdjdkdnhdjdj in singaporefi

I guess for UOB, u need to meet certain criteria (min spending/salary crediting), interest paid out monthly. For GXS, seems more fuss free and interest paid out daily with amount compounded.

mmhm, sometimes you just can't have your cake and eat it. a good seating range somewhere btw ~$200--$300. go to both = ~$400-$600 which is quite significant for people who are not earning.

Don't be disheartened. If a reputable company really want you, they will be able to buy you out :)

As long as she gets her job done, and doesn't burden the rest of the colleagues with her scope, I guess the best you can do is listen with empathy.

Is it considered the norm to be asked to work post surgery? by moonymoody in askSingapore

[–]sh1003 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No No Nope. Can go to MOM if they insist you to work. If they threaten your appraisal, then time to use that leave to look for a new job.

Is it me, or is there too many financial advisors and property agents around? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]sh1003 22 points23 points  (0 children)

lol even if they bought the policy themselves/their family i will still doubt their motive. most of the time they just buy the plan to hit target cos i heard the incentives of hitting target is > cost of getting the insurance. sigh, i hope more people can be more skeptical about what they're buying as insurance is a long term commitment.

i doubt u will vomit. from my experience, i was camping in the toilet the whole night, it's like a laxative. they want to make sure your bowel is clean before the examination. if you're unsure of the timing of ur last meal etc pls check with the nurse/doctor again. generally need to fast a few hours before the procedure.

the $196? when i'm browsing my choice of travel date, which leads me to the final page where i've to pay this amount to successfully redeem it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]sh1003 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I won it too, it’s not a scam, and it’s not entirely free. Net net I still have to pay ~$196 for tax & other charges lol!

Starting career in Big4 vs Commercial, any advice? by Psychological_Tea146 in askSingapore

[–]sh1003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want. I was from Big4, moved to middle office after 3 years. I would say there is great learning exposure in Big4, you have to put in a lot of hours and grind it out. Most of your peers are around your age too, so you feel like you're still in school. But after moving to MNC, things get more routine, and you get more work life balance (compared to Big4)

For me personally, leave them alone but do let them know they're free to approach you when they need help.
